Hello, was wondering, can I use your app and place it in priv-app folder, so it is installed at first boot with the sys?
Did you try installing it regularly? That's the best method if you can. You can try and drop it into priv-app though. It should install that way, but not sure what it will do if you already have another version of TouchWiz installed, as it's pretty much considered to be the same package. Maybe do a backup first or at least have another backup launcher installed just in case something goes wrong. :)
I have a bug
This is an extremely vague reply. Is someone supposed to help you without a single detail? If you're getting an error, then check the OP to see if it matches the ones I listed there.

There are some bugs in opening and closing the application list.
Strange. Haven't had any problems with that myself and haven't heard anyone else mention it. Did you try clearing the Touchwiz app cache(maybe even the data) in settings after you installed it? Could just be glitched by some of the old stuff that's in there.

well, yes, i know how it works, so i placed it in the stock tw folder and renamed it to the same name and it works perfectly. I was wandering, do you have any experience in building custom roms? i am trying to make my own, for personal usage, but i am having trouble preloading some of the custom kernels. can you help me with that?

the apk is great, and for that you have my thanks.

1- There were only 2 steps in the OP. 1 was backup. 2 was install. Guess you missed step one? Without root or a backup all I can think of for you to try is to extract the old TouchWiz apk file from the old stock firmware, the newest Nougat update from your service provider or a stock based rom for your device and see if it will actually install and revert back. If that doesn't work you might be looking at actually flashing back the whole stock firmware in Odin to get it. You can get it from sammobile.com and it should still keep all your data while restoring all the original system stuff.
2- No. It only updates the app.
3- What menu are you talking about? If you just want to change colors just try a lighter theme from the theme store.
4- I haven't experienced any lag myself. In fact, the new TouchWiz is super fast.
Hi there, this will be my 1st time trying to perform this. Can I know prior to do a backup, where is the location of the stock TW? And how do I do a backup for this TW? Sorry guys I'm really a noobies.

Well there's lots of ways to backup TouchWiz. Simplest would be just to go into /system/priv-app in your root file explorer and find the TouchWiz folder and just copy(not move) it to somewhere like your Downloads folder for safe keeping. Then you can just copy it back later and replace it with the new one if you want. You can also back it up with an app like Titanium Backup and restore it through there. To be absolutely safe though, I recommend always backing up all your system, data, etc. in TWRP just before installing the new Touchwiz(or anything to do with the system for that matter). Then if you want to restore you can just do a quick wipe and restore everything back to the way it was.

All of this is only if you think you might want to go back to the old version though. Personally, I like the new one better, as it's quicker, cleaner and has more intuitive features. There's no risk of running into any major problems in the system or anything. Either it installs or it doesn't and even if it does it really just works like an app update. :)

Downloaded the TWS8.apk but when I tried to install, it says that Application not installed due to conflict with an existing package. And somehow I could not locate the stock TW file in my storage. Using SM-N9208 with Nougat that was recently updated via OTA.

Finally .. managed to install after reading all the comments .. thanks..
You didn't need to go through all the comments. The solution for that error is linked directly in the OP.

To do this quickly enough you need to:

1) Change your lock screen to swipe.
2) Place a shortcut to the apk on the desktop for quick access.
3) Reboot the device.
4) Unlock the screen immediately on startup and try to install from the shortcut.
worked like a charm thanks!

Does this work on sprint note 5 I'm getting parse error after trying to install
It works on my Sprint Note 5 running 7.0. All I did was put .bak extension on original apk just in case. I still prefer Nova but this is definitely the best TouchWiz Launcher so far.

Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5 using XDA Labs

Can't install

Hi I can't install this on my G900S running a heavily TouchWiz based Note7 Marshmallow ROM. Error I'm getting is that there was an error parsing the package. Tried the system app uninstaller and installer method, the apk manager didn't come up with the apk for the S8 Launcher but it came up with all of my other apks.
