transfer cell number to a program using tablet?

hi is their a way for me to keep my number i have on my n7 and transfer it to a calling program i can download from the store? i dont want to give up my n7 but it seems some carriers are going beyond to stop people using the phone. so i want to switch over to a tablet. i think the s7 is a bit small for my taste and im pretty sure the phone wont still be working when the s8 comes out with the 6.2 inch screen. im a huge of big phones like mega 6.3 and galaxy w from korea with a 7 inch screen. phones with a big screen makes a difference. i upgraded to n7 but downgraded screen. massive difference.

Lots of ways to do this. I've used ObiTalk for this, but the app now crashes at startup on my Galaxy Tab A, so that may not be a good bet. My number is in a Google voice account and forwarded to a number in my ObiTalk account. You might check out Ring Central, they seem fairly reliable. You'll need to open an account then port your number over. Best to do it before it's blocked because otherwise the verification process may be difficult.
