I cant get it to work at all. It just hangs every ****ing time I try to grab anything off of it or put anything on it. Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences? It's honestly infuriating. I hate MTP so much.

Don't have the same experience yet I have seen issues related to one machine that I could not replicate on another. That being said if you haven't already tried to connect using a different cable.. or to an entirely different pc altogether, then that would be a good place to start.
Are you transferring to/from your internal storage or SD card?

Internal storage, it also likes to crash windows explorer if I try to make new folder or rename a folder.
Weird, internal storage works fine for me with MTP, but anything with the SD card freezes. I have no clue what causes it..besides MTP blows.
