Hi.

It stopped to work about 2 months ago, when I first time did S-off on my Sensation, and installed few ROM's. WiFix is not working, changing wpa_supplicant is not working becouse there is no "wpa_supplicant" in misc/wifi ... I have even changed motherboard and it's still this same problem... Any help ?

@And photos are always blurred on one side ...

I too first s-offed my HTC Sensation a few months ago, and ended up with broken wifi. When attempting to turn on wifi, it cycles on/off twice, then will either say "Error, unable to search for networks," or simply, "Error." I've tried different roms, going back to the original RUU. My wife has an identical phone that I s-offed today, and her phone functions flawlessly. I checked everything and we have the same versions of all. Thanks in advance for any help!

Code:
Phone Information: HTC Sensation 4g Tmobile USA

Android 2.3.4
Software #: 1.50.531.1
Build Number: 1.50.531.1 CL125597
HBoot: 1.18.0000

Kernel Version: 2.6.35.13-g9cd440e

did u unlocked your bootloader from htcdev method?? If yes, u cant flash roms with different kernels instead of stock htc kernel. becouse this htc dev method only unlock some parts of your bootloader. You cant flash boot.img because of this ,but other kernel files may flashed , then finally u will get some problems related to these wifi, bluetooth drives. there is a post about this in dev section.please read it. you have to unlovk ur bootloader eith revolutionary.. ;)

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA

Both of my phones were made s-off using the revolutionary method. After comparing values of software versions, baseband, etc of the phone with working WiFi vs the other, leave me with the only difference of "unknown" for WiFi Mac Address on the non-working phone. Thanks in advance!

Well, I moved up to the 3.32 firmware, and Android Revolution HD 6.6.0 after reading that it had a good radio included. Unfortunately this did not solve my problem, however this ROM is fantastic! After tinkering about with the phone for half the day myself, my daughter tried something I hadn't though of... percussive maintenance. The darling little two year old grabbed my phone, and in a moment of triumph was off with great speed. She soon went face (no, phone) first into the ground. As device popped free, it was clear... while my screen may be broken now... she, among us all, finally got my WiFi working!

After fighting with it so long, I think I'd rather have it this way...

Yes indeed! It's been working since then. I checked, and it now has a value for the WiFi mac address, that it previously had not. I'm personally not really impressed with this as a fix (I'm calling it the "Sophia method," in honor of the little one. ;)), as I feel it could potentially come back at any time. I'm the type of person who likes concrete reasons for malfunctions like this, so this still kind of drives me nuts. I wish you luck with your phone as well, and certainly don't recommend the Sophia method! Thanks folks!

Has anybody had any success in solving this issue, other than by the 'Sophia method'?

After attempting to S-OFF using the revolutionary (unsuccessfully, although I'm not sure if that's relevant), my WiFi is exhibiting exactly the same symptoms.

Tried everything, no luck. Maybe in a strange way, it's comforting that thousands of other people are having the same frustrations with their Sensation's wifi not working. Maybe I'm really not doing anything wrong and the wifi card in these phones just sucks.

I actually solved this issue on my friend's Sensation, which started exhibiting the issue after a failed attempt to S-OFF using revolutionary.io. In the end, I resorted to the wire trick to S-OFF, which let me then flash to Cyanogenmod 9, solving the issue.
