Difference between MK908 and EU MK908

Hi,

Could anyway explain to me what the difference is between these products besides the price?

geekbuying.com/item/Tronsmart-MK908-Google-Android-4-1-Mini-PC-TV-Box-RK3188-Quad-Core-2G-8G-BT-Black-315155.html
geekbuying.com/item/EU-plug-Tronsmart-MK908-Google-Android-4-1-Mini-PC-TV-Box-RK3188-Quad-Core-2G-8G-BT-Black-315163.html

Couldn't see any noticeable differences, I'm assuming that they're the same product (MK908). Just curious where the 10 euro difference comes from..

Thanks!!

I actually was wondering about the "EU plug" version of the device. Both those items are sold on geekbuying and the "EU plug" version is about ten euro cheaper than the MK908 you started this thread about.

Just got this from geekbuying--going to pick it up next week. Psyched. This is my first android pc stick, finally took the plunge after seeing some preliminary videos and knowing that finless will come out for it eventually.

I'll let you all know how it goes!

mk 908 low score?

I get a score of 14000 in antutu which is low for a rk3188 at 1.6ghz i saw in no-frills cpu control in the view stats part shows that its only running at 1008mhz. Im guess its running some where in between 1.6ghz and 1008mhz because when i force a force clock of 1008mhz it only scores 11000 in antutu. I think this score of 14000 in antutu is low since tablets which run the rk3188 at 1.6hz get 18000 and at 1.8ghz get 20000. Is there any custom roms out there with cpu value controls? Will roms of other rk3188 devices work?

Don't concern yourself with antutu scores just yet. Device just came out so firmware will have to get tweaked. Do you see any issues with the device rather than lower than usual antutu score?

If everything is working well I would suggest to wait a few months until this stick gets proper ROM support.

The wifi signal seems pretty weak even though im right beside my router and it still cuts out all the time, but I am waiting for a micro usb to rj45 adapter to hard wire it anyways.

Settings erased

Hi

i got this device a couple of days ago. I noticed that when you reboot it or shut it down, the settings are reset to default. Is there a way to maintain android settings for this device even after reboot? Thanks

I wanna know this too, it reset time and everything to default. The date reset back to 1971. I did check on carrier set time and it helped on date but not on time.

Dont buy this thing... Its rather underwhelming.

It does not ship with xbmc and you cant use the current stable version because it crashes... you have to get a mirrored link for a special build from geekbuying via email which takes a week.

There are two OTG cables in the box... I can report that at least one of them is not suitable for flashing roms. I had to use an old moto cable.

its not 1080p yet.

even if they do release an update to make it push 1080, the processor doesn't seem to have the gonads to decode 720p content without at least some chop so I cant imagine 1080 ever looking good.

the stock netflix looks like crap even with solid wifi connection. the xda HD hack might fair better though I have not tried it yet

yes the play store works. yes it is rooted with SU out of the box.

Overall, I kinda think it sucks.

i bought this 2 weeks back, everything's working fine so far.
    fast and snappy.
only thing i find weird is that there is not soft power off button. i switch the device of by yanking the power cable out. dont really feel comfortable about that.

    eagerly waiting for 4.2.2!!

New ROM (experimental) is released since 27-05-2013. Its on geekbuying I think. (no time to search the link atm)

    Hi guys.

I have Tronsmart Mk908 couple days and I'm pretty satisfied. I need solve some small issue and I hope you can help me with.
the 1st thing is sound output. Because I have only pc monitor with hdmi input, but without capability to play sound from hdmi source, my issue is obvious - how to get sound from minipc? I've seen somewhere (pls don't ask me where, I really don't remember) about USB sound adapter, what should work. cheap and nice solution. I already bought this - bit.ly/10wlWEw, but it's doesn't work. Probably need some software, or drivers...
So - any idea of working and not expensive solution?
2nd thing is keyboard/mouse. I've also seen some Rii, KP-810 or Lenovo mini keyboards, but all of them have limits and are compromise in comfort of using. Any better idea?

Thanks for any valuable help, I will really appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

In the new ROM USB audio is working supposedly. So it should work with that ROM.
The way I'm fixing this is a bit different because of my setup. I've got a HDMI switcher coming wich also outputs SPDIF. (Got several HDMI-devices and a AMP & beamer for wich I need the correct inputs.)

HI. New ROM installed, USB sound adapter working!!! Thanks!
And what about keyboard/touchpad set? Frined have some bluetooth, but have difficulty to be more than 2-3 metres from minipc, can't catch signal for such distance.
