I have apps that just randomly close. No error pops up or anything, they just close. I mainly game on my phone like Dawn of Titans and Clash of Clans. Very annoying when they close and I lose a lot of work in the games. How would I go about trying to debug or look at an error report to try and figure out why my apps are closing? I don't really use any other apps for long periods of time so I rarely, if ever, see them just close on me. The phone is generally warm but not overly hot. I have had this issue on two different Pixel XL phones. The issue seems to have gotten worse after the February security patch but I can't really say since I wasn't keeping track.

No I haven't. Not even sure where that setting might be. In developer options, because of these issues, I set "Don't keep activities". I have Franko Kernel but have not messed with most of the settings since I am not entirely sure what is best. i have been searching around and doing some reading but haven't found anyone with posted settings. I think the last time I was able to truly root and had FK was maybe my Samsung S4? Not being able to root the past few years I have forgotten some of what works.

Then you may have an app with a memory leak, and the game gets closed by the memory manager to free more memory. Could be the app itself, too, but I don't play those so can't really tell you.

I thought there was an app that allowed to see background processes and you could see if anything showed in red? It was like a debug app or something that would show everything running. I can't recall. I had this issue with a previous Pixel that got replaced for a different reason. Maybe these games/apps aren't fully optimized for Nougat yet? Starting to think I should have just stayed with the iPhone 7+.
