This may be strange but with the setup I have after flashing to SF Kernel 1.54 my battery life is drastically improving! I"ll let you know if it keeps up! For some reason SF 12/19 and 12/20 was drainging fast on my phone. Or could be missing something else in general. I did after installing V1.54 clear cache, and Batt Wipe as well.

I am seeing the same thing as KenKeno. The stupidfast kernels sucked my phone dry so I gave up on them back in december. I'm using JT's 12/30 and went 35 hours with light to moderate usage. I don't use juice defender or anything like that either.

One other thing I noticed about the stupidfast kernals was that they tend to slow down the longer you go with out a reboot. Jt's kernals don't feel like they do this. So, maybe just give jt's kernals or adrynalynes (just an undervolted version of jt's kernal) a shot, they feel just as snapy to me. boot times maybe a little longer but that doesn't really matter does it?
Been using Adynalyne's 12/30. Still have horrible battery life. Where is jt's 12/30?

edit: found it. going to run it for awhile and see if it is any better.

Just thought I would revive a dying thread with another instance of poor/terrible battery life. I'm running SF 1.54 with DJ05 and losing 1% every 2 minutes with just the xda app open.

It seems to me that the battery problem is afFecting DJ05 users, which leads me to believe it's something to do with some form of signal, gps or otherwise. I used to get amazing life out of this machine, but it all started downhill right around the time I changed radios.

Thoughts?

DL09 is just as bad. Going back to DI01 w/ geekniks kernel. I was able to last atleast one work day with that. I'll just live with the GPS issues.

Mind posting an update on how well the revert worked? It would be pretty damning evidence against the firmware updates.

edit:

f' DL09 and DJ05. Been running DI01 and stupidfast for about hour and 15 and only lost about 15%. That includes downloading about 10 updates from market, browsing web for awhile and about 15 pushed emails..... I can already see the difference. Actually went outside and on a cold boot got a lock w/ google maps in about 10 secs. Don't know if that's a fluke or what..... Going to do a full charge tomorrow and see what the deal-e-o is!!

tikimcfee, I was warned by chopperthedog that the xda app is a huge battery drain. You may want to stay away from using that app extensively. I initially thought that part of the problem was in the list of bug fixes from Verizon. They list "improving the updating consistency of widgets", which equals additional battery drain. But it seems the phone still drags down even if he data is off. I'm sure this addition doesn't help our battery life though.

a while back I went on a cruise with my fascinate unrooted, and since I didn't wanna pay for service I put it on airplane mode and just used it as a clock. at the end of the week, I had dropped like ten percent of my battery. pretty crazy. but anyways, I just installed voodoo 100 last night, and today my battery drained super fast with pretty heavy use, but then I realized that some time when I had booted my screen went to 100% brightness. just turned it down and I'll report on life tomorrow.

4 hours and at 69%. I am DI01 w/ JT's super clean rom using geekniks latest rom. Way better battery life. I expect to be at around 45-50% by the end of work day (4pm pst). I would have been at 35% by now if I still had DJ05 or DL09. Wondering if those w/ official OTA DL09 are having battery issues.......

hmm... Well, that about sums it up for me. If this whole recent excitement with kaos and his crazy fast
Development slows down, I might give it a shot and downgrade as well.

Just got the OTA last night. With official/non-rooted OTA DL09, after 6 hours of sleeping, dropped 30% of battery life. While I was on official/non-rooted DI01, after 6 hours of sleeping, only dropped about 6% of battery life.

One thing I noticed is that Cell Standby in battery use went up, it's currently around 24%, I think it used to be way lower than that.

the U.P.
one thing to note is one of the fixes of this update, the touch panel backlight timing out with the screen, will increase battery drain, possibly significantly when using the phone.

Possible solution to battery life problem

After trying everything I could think of (different kernals/roms, wiped battery stats several times) to no end, I finally decided to let my battery drain all the way to 0% and my phone shut off. I plugged my phone in, went in to recovery and wiped battery stats and to my surprise battery life is back to what it was before upgrading (subjectively it seems to be a bit better) to DJ05/DL09. I don't have a clue if it will work for anyone else but it worked for me!

Yeah, the steps in that thread was step one for me when I install a new rom and kernel combo. I lose around 1% every three or four hours as well. Then I would lose 8-10% in a half an hour to an hour on standby, even when the data was off for most of that time. That is what changed from DI01. Just not sure why.
