What happens if I flash a Exynos based rom on a snapdragon note 8? Will I get boot looped or....?
Don't do it, it can brick your phone. Period. Stick to stuff that's actually made for your device. The others who are saying it's ok are giving you a hard time because you asked a basic question without presumably trying a quick search ;). Next time, try that first please :)

Spoilsport :p

No, seriously OP...

Do NOT flash anything for a Snapdragon on an Exy or Visa Versa.

Best case, it will fail to flash. Worse case, your phone will brick and only JTAG will recover it. Not to mention Knox will be tripped.

But then again, you aren`t a true XDA`er if your Knox is intact.

The first commandment of XDA - Thou shalt triggereth Knox to geteth it over and doneth with. Amen.

On the plus side If he does try it he will have one of the worlds most expensive rocks. My pet rock 2.0 riches style.

Serious note you can't blame all these xda vets for trolling. People come in here without even doing a simple google search or xda. It's laziness for the most part. We get tired of seeing simple questions that been asked many times over.

Most XDA members luckily don't do this crap. Props to a lot of people reading this.

Odin won't let you flash even the same hardware if the model number is different, let alone different platforms of hardware entirely.

The main reason this would never work (as far as I understand) is that the hardware drivers are not right so nothing would load. The higher level android stuff would probably work if you rebuilt the ROM with the proper lower-level binaries, drivers, etc but what would be the point in going to that much effort for basically the same user experience?

Op, it is good to ask, everyone learns by doing it, but, before aski g, it is a good practice to search a little bit, then evaluate what you find, because not everything you may find is always true, then that would be the best time to make some really interesting question useful for you and others, all here started the same way at some point, so do not take to heart the trolling, just keep searching
