just question but why do you need to flash a custom stock zip before locking the bootloader, isn't it possible to lock and then flash the ruu? what would happen if you have a custom Rom with the wrong cid installed?

with the bootloader locked you cant flash any custom rom.
its the ALL purpose of bootload locked, not letting custom roms to be flashed

I'm a bit confused.

My cid is HTC622, so it's from Hong Kong. But I live in England. I have a custom ROM on. Is it possible to get the latest European radio on from a European ruu?
Or impossible...

Thanks.

Oh, and why don't people just restore their original nandroid of their stock ROM, rather than ripping the ROM out of an ruu?

no, because we don't have S-OFF.

now you can only update your phone with the right RUU for your CID

with S-OFF, we can change the CID to superCID and than you can update your phone with any RUU (european for ex.)

yeah, you can run RUUs with bootloader LOCKED
Make sure your battery is at least at 40% before you relock the bootloader with a custom ROM loaded, or you won't be able to run the RUU. And, you won't be able to charge the battery because you are stuck in fastboot from that point on, and in fastboot, you can't recharge the battery. IF you are indeed trapped in fastboot, you can revert to the batch file I posted here earlier in this thread which will allow you to slowly recharge the battery in fastboot/bootloader mode.

It's always safer to restore a nandroid of the stock ROM before relocking the bootloader, or at least flash via recovery the stock ROM as a ZIP as uploaded in one of Mike1986's threads. At least then, you will ensure you have a safe route of being able to charge the battery after you relock the bootloader.

Hi. My CID is H3G001 and part of the OTA update that I ran while still on the stock ROM updated the H-Boot to 0.94.
If I try and run the original RUU to revert back to stock (I'm currently using the ARHD ROM) it fails, regardless of the state of the bootloader or which recovery is loaded into the phone.
Even restoring my original nandroid backup doesn't help.
Has anyone any ideas?

I'm trying to cook the rom.zip extracted from my RUU file :

RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_O2_UK_1.26.206.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13_release_251230_signed

so i can use this guide to revert to stock.

I don't have access to a linux machine unfortunately. Can anyone help?

Many Thanks,
Dominic.

Because some total fools (like me) didn't originally do a nandroid
