Hello Im porting a rom, all are working except the camera I cant enable the front camera only the back. Can someone help me what should I copy? Im porting a MTK6592 chipset,

Try to port rom from other mt6572 phone.there are lots of roms like color os.lewa os....

Compare your init files having #camera drivers (search in notepad++) with the stock one.

Try to keep them identical

Copy all libcam*.so files from stock /system/lib to your ROM

Can any one suggest me where to get a clean lewa ROM so that it has all the features as displayed on lewa website. eg camera interface etc. I ported lewa ROM from lenovo s890 and it has all features except new camera interface. So will there be a clean ROM for it. Please clarify.

How to fix sd mount in devices without divided apps/internal sd
1.Decompile services.jar from stock and "to be ported" rom.
2.Copy all smalis that starts with MountService from stock services.jar (com/android/server) to "to be ported" services.jar
3.Compile "to be ported" services.jar and flash

can u help me with fixing a sd card bug. I mean I am not able to mount my sd card on pc and also it doesnt show on ma phone and in my stock services.jar there are no smali files...

Guys, i'm closing this thread as it has span to more than 200 over pages now & its kinda hard for newbies to follow-up . . .

i started this thread when i discovered that MT6573 & MT6577 can be easily ported over & at that time, only a handful of ROM Cookers & ROM Porters . . . Nowadays, there are tons of them . . . :laugh:

Most importantly, infos here are kinda obsolete for these devices & its confusing as it covers all MTKs so i'm leaving it here for reference . . .

It has been a great thread here & thanks to many XDA members that has contributed their findings to this thread but it has to come to its End Of Life with the EOL of these devices & i'm kinda of obsolete too as i'm still using my old faithful MT6577 & i've not ported any ROMs close to a year now, thats why you don't see me replying . . .

Before i do so pls let me know who wants to start a totally new thread for MTKs & i'll leave the links to your new thread at the OP so that it'll be easier for XDA members to find your thread . . . :good:

i think it should be SoC specific such as listed below . . .

1. MT6573 <- if anyone still wanna start a new thread for this SoC
2. MT6575 <- if anyone still wanna start a new thread for this SoC
3. MT6577 <- if anyone still wanna start a new thread for this SoC
4. MT6589
5. MT6572
6. MT6582
7. MT6592
8. MT6595

Or any suggestions are mostly welcome . . . :laugh:
