Hello Core users! Happy to meet you :D

"Cant wait for CyanogenMod? me too. Well... because our phone slow
at custom ROM developing, you can pretend you have it with this simple
tutorial that transform your TouchWiz into AOSP/CM!!"

Without wasting time let's begin.

Before messing with your rom better set a backup first.
I'm not responsible for any damage to your device.
This tutorial requires root access
CWM recommended.

1. Launcher

The stock jellybean launcher comes with simple yet interesting interface. You can get it straight out from here:

Android 4.2 Launcher Port - by. TheDarkDefender
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970700

or you can simply download Nova Launcher, Apex, or Epic Launcher [Kitkat AOSP Style,
recommended by CoreGuy] from Google Play Store with
similar appearance and more customizations.

2. System UI and Icons

This mod will theme your system ui (phone interface, icons, etc). But before you can use it you must install Xposed Framework and Xtheme Engine [root required]

1. Xposed thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401
2. Xtheme thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xthemeengine-beta5-theme-engine-t2240180

Remember to install frameworks on Xposed and activate Xtheme Engine on Xposed modules tab. After successfully install both of the apps you can download the AOSP system ui mod here

AOSP SystemUI Mod - by. pierx
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442835

for CM styled statusbar battery you can find it on the thread.

3. Lockscreen

This mod also requires Xposed, so check it under modules tab on Xposed after installing this app. This mod replace your stock Touchwiz "Swipe" lockscreen with the AOSP one. You can download it here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410945

4. AOSP and CyanogenMod Apps [ Optional ]

This mod is optional, if you loved Touchwiz original apps then skip this but if you want your rom to look more like AOSP then you can follow this step.

You can download ported AOSP apps ( Nexus 4 ), from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/aroma-mega-thread-t1964726

This thread includes :
- AOSP Calendar
- AOSP Contacts
- AOSP E-Mail
- AOSP Keyboard
- AOSP Clock
- AOSP Camera
- All Google Apps (Play Music, Docs, etc)
- and more!

CyanogenMod also has its own interesting apps, you can download all of them
here:
- CM File Manager
- CM Calculator
- CM CLock
- CM Apollo Music Player
- CM Messaging

*Tips : You can 'freeze' original Touchwiz apps with Link2SD or Titanium Backup.

5. CyanogenMod Bootanimation

The last one, cyanogenmod 10 bootanimation. you can download it here
CM10.1 Bootanimation for Samsung - by. Mohitash

Check out his thread!:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349033

How to install QMG file boot anims?:
1. Backup original bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg at
system > media. and rename it to e.g 'bootsamsung.qmg.bak'
2. Copy CM10.1 modded 'bootsamsung.qmg' and 'bootsamsungloop.qmg' to
"media" folder
3. Set the new bootanimation file permission to rw- r-- r--
4. Reboot and Enjoy!

That's it! Your phone now looks more like AOSP / CyanogenMod.
Hope you like my thread and Happy Modding!

Press 'Thanks' if you like this.

I disagree with the launcher part, the aosp is too boring and can't remove Google bar and can't make folders or hide apps whereas apex or nova are battery and ram eaters.
I prefer and advise to use "Epic Launcher" or "Epic Launcher Prime" as they are based on aosp 4.4 and are better than any standalone launcher.
Try it yourself
BTW nice guide.
