Android L???

I have Nexus 7 v2 (Flo) and have flashed the released ota update for android l, and everything is running smoothly. exept root. I cannot use the lates SuperSU, 2.16. TWRP usually works, but not to flash the zip and root. Any one have any ideas? is there another exploit for the actual android 5.0, that is different from the pre-release/Demo?
Thanks a bunch.

Flo?

This may sound stupid but are there two versions of the Nexus 7 (2013) version? I know that there is the first Nexus7 and then the Nexus 7(2013). Does Nexus 7 (2013) = Nexus 7 (flo). And if so, why is it called flo?

How to full root android 5.0???

Google chain fire auto-root, and get the latest download (Make sure you get the right file for your device and O S). There are basic instruction on his page.

Make sure you do a back up, if you are NOT unlocked yet, it will factory reset. Make sure you have drivers installed on your computer. Make sure you have u s b debugging checked.

Here are some basic instructions for windows computer/nexus 7 (2013) WiFi only

Once you get-auto root.
Unzip the file
Restart nexus 7 into fast boot mode
Connect u s b cord from computer to device
Click the widows batch file (windows-root)

Reverting to stock (updated to Lollipop)

My nexus 7 2013 was rooted and running an older stock rom and I needed to be able to get OTA updates again. I had a hard time remembering/decyphering the steps for this tutorial, even though I'm sure I followed it the first time. Anyways, this video helped me: youtube dot com/watch?v=bsss9e71bKo I ended up using the recently released Lollipop and it worked splendidly for me.

I DID lose my data, but nothing important since most of my info was on the cloud already. You may have better luck than I did if you use the rom from the OP. I tried the trick of removing the -w from the flash-all.bat file, but the rom was incredibly unstable for me.

One thing to note is that it took a long time for my tablet to boot up and I had to disconnect my usb cable from it. I thought I had softbricked but it just took a while. Like probably over 5 minutes.

nexus 7 2013 LTE

Is this thread/tutorial also possible to use for LTE version ? I have custom recovery so I am not able to use OTA update 4.4.3->4.4.4. I must revert back factory/stock recovery, then ota update to 4.4.4 and revert back custom recovery (I have unlock bootloader and root, after this upgrade it will remain or I must again unlock bootloader and/or reroot) ? thanks for explanations

fastboot oem unlock did not work

Got a really big problem with my Nexus 7 2013 WiFi 32GB.

Got OTA Update to Android 5.0.1 today and installed it - worked fine.
Afterwards i tried to do a factory reset to get a clean system. -> failed.

I never flashed anything on it, it just rebooted and when erasing data it got stuck. Said something like it can't mount a /cache directory.

I can enter the bootloader, but it is locked. fastboot oem unlock command does not work. It gets stuck at "(bootloader) erasing userdata". It does not do anything...

so if i do the fastboot oem unlock command i get asked if i want to do it (yes no choice on tablet) and after choosing yes it gets stuck.

What can i do now to get a working device ? If i boot it i just see a white Google logo and thats it.

Pretty cool and easy instructions! I unlocked bootloader of my razor nexus 7 while still on OEM Kitkat 4.4.4 which I did in order to flash factory image of razor 5.0.1 via fastboot (worked great!) ... was a pleasant surprise to discover it's just 2 steps away from rooting it (CF-Auto-Root worked like a charm) and flashing with TWRP - CF-Auto-Root worked fine while on Lollipop 5.0.1, Root Checker confirms it :)

Same here... I got the 5.0.1 update and a day or two later the Google screen. Can't get to recovery nor unlock via Wugsv1.99 or fast boot unlock... It just hangs on erasing userdata. I've watched a million videos and searched the web for 3 days and only find others who have the issue, nothing with anyone with a actual fix though. I even tried using the flash-all.bat file in the platform tools and still not working either. I'm pretty positive that usb debugging was off since it was stock. Thanks Google, I'm sure I'm out of warranty since I got it day one release. It's never been dropped, always in a case, never rooted and it gets bricked. I could have rooted and not had this issue, BONED BY GOOGLE indeed!

Try flashing the images MANUALLY in fastboot. Try erasing caches from fastboot.

Don't blame Google.

    Warning!
This guide and its guidelines are meant only and only for the new Nexus 7 "FLO" (2013).
Do not attempt to try this on the older Nexus 7 or any other device.
Applying this to any other variant might brick the device.
Read and understand the instructions carefully before proceeding any further.
    ....-ox=O=xo-....
THIS GUIDE IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS
    1) This point is really important. You’re going to lose all your datas on the device including the internal storage. So back everything up.

    2) Download and Install 7zip or any other archive manager as WinRAR etc...

    3) Download and install Android SDK

    OR

    3Bis)Download The ADB and Fastboot Tools in the same Tool ==> platform-tools.zip - md5: 15e771613370afe3c70e0be1454d2ef1 - size: 346.8KB

    4) Put these 3 files in where your fastboot folder is installed; ex => => disk C: root
Unzipped this file on the folder "platform-tools" and you will find 11 files:
    - aapt
    - adb
    - AdbWinApi.dll
    - AdbWinUsbApi.dll
    - aidl
    - dexdump
    - llvm-rs-cc
    - fastboot
    - dx
    - NOTICE
    - source.properties

    5) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the tablet to connect it with the computer and use Android SDK with it.
    { Press Menu =>> Settings =>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option then check the USB Debugging Mode.}
If you don’t see the Development Options, you'll need to open the Settings app and scroll down to the bottom. Once you get there, tap “About Phone”. Scroll to the bottom again, until you see the Build Number entry.
Now tap Build Number a total of seven times. You'll see friendly developer messages starting with the fourth tap. After the seventh, you'll see a message congratulating you for unlocking Developer Options. “Now you are a developer".

    6) At least 70% battery power to avoid uncertain shutdowns during the process.

    7) The tutorial is compatible only with the Nexus 7 wifi (2013) FLO.

[TUTORIAL]Download Factory Images Nexus 7 FLO - Restore back STOCK

[TUTORIAL]Download Factory Images Nexus 7 FLO - Restore back STOCK - With latest version KitKat 4.4.4

Find your Factory image for your N7 FLO - KitKat KTU84P - Download Link - - is very useful if you need to restore back your device to Stock after any modification you’ve made. If you have rooted your N7 Flo, unlocked its bootloader, installed custom recovery and roms and finally you want decided to getting back to official firmware and then to get or accept future OTA updates again. It’s the best way to restore back your device to Stock.

Coming back to stock is also useful if you have some bugs (for fixing it), Bootloop, stuck in boot screen logo and freeeeezzziiiinnnngggg, etc....
But before to going back to stock, you need to read completly the tutorial and need to know
Your bootloader will be “LOCKED or UNLOCKED” when you want.

1 - Where I can can find the right Factory Image for my Nexus 7 Flo and which files I need for proceed ?
But first download and install the necessary files prior to execute this properly. Download the full factory image corresponding to your exact mode which includes the full system, bootloader, recovery, kernel (boot.img).
Unpack the TGZ Version (tar/gz) or Zip Version Archive into its own directory. I use 7-Zip, but you can use any tool that reads gz and tar.

    qose.png

    1. Factory Images "razor" for Nexus 7 [2013] (Wi-Fi) - 4.4.4 (KTU84P) - Download link

If you have already installed those files, just check theirs.
    2. Java Runtime Environment.
    3. Android SDK | Android Developers.
    4. Platform tools
    5. Fastboot files

    2 - PREREQUISITES
First make sure that your battery is fully charge 100% and BACKUP ALL YOUR PERSONNEL DATA

[1] - Make sure you have USB debugging turned on. For security purposes, you can turn it off after we're done

[2] - Plug-in USB cable and If you are booted into Android, open a command prompt to your ADB and Fastboot directory,

[3] - In case you are not unlock, you need to unlock your bootloader, enter the following commands:
    Code:
    fastboot oem unlock
If your tablet hasn't already rebooted automatically, type:
    Code:
    fastboot reboot
NOW WE ARE READY FOR PROCEED TO RETURN STOCK

    3 - RUNNING FACTORY IMAGE

If you want to keep your data intact, don't skip this step, (if you do your data will be wiped :( )

With your text editor (for me it's Notepad ++,
[1] - Edit (be careful not to run it by accident instead of editing)
    [2] - flash-all.bat (if you're on Windows)
    [2a] - flash-all.sh (Mac, Linux)
[2b] - and remove "-w" from the fastboot update command

For example, if the line reads fastboot -w update image-razor-ktu84p.zip, it should now read: fastboot update image-razor-ktu84p.zip. The -w option instructs fastboot to wipe data.
[3] - Reboot into the bootloader and run the appropriate flash-all script:
    Code:
    flash-all.bat
    4wii.png

Done, your Nexus 7 Flo is now coming back and running Stock Android KK 4.4.4

    uqpv.png

In Case you want to come back completely to Stock, for warranty or security purpouses, you need to re-lock your bootloader now.
    Enter the following commands
    Code:
    fastboot oem lock
If your tablet hasn't already rebooted automatically, type:
    Code:
    fastboot reboot
    Done!

Thanks philos64. My problem now is that I couldn't even boot into the OS, I can get into Bootloader mode or Recovery mode, but I couldn't factory reset (says "failed") or boot pass the Nexus screen. (stuck there for more than 15 minutes).

I'm sort of a noob, any help will be appreciated.

this just happened to me. I fixed it by:

    1. go into recovery and FORMAT DATA in the wipe menu

    2. then FACTORY RESET

    3. restart to os

i didnt need to download the system.img like the above link

    What exactly is "FLO"?

Is this different from my Nexus 7 Full HD (2013) or it's the same thing?

From the cyanogen site it implies that "flo" is basically the same thing but I'd like to be sure:

    "Codename: flo"

    ?

Flo is the WiFi only version of the nexus 7 2013. There is also deb which is the WiFi and cellular version of the nexus 7 2013.
