Try with pure vanilla AOSP who is the lightest rom...maybe you won't have this errorI tried with both ab and ab-vndklite. It stops with msg unable to resize system_b partition. Exactly same.Did you just follow the steps in this thread or did you tweak them a bit for Lisa. I have the same and am facing issues while installing the pe+ gsi. Thanks.
The issue i have is already mentioned by dwensch in pg2.Exactly same.
I guess you are having issue in entering into fastbootD.
if you already in fastboot, just type 'reboot fastboot'
Or type your issue directly
Download latest adb platform tools from here:The issue i have is already mentioned by dwensch in pg2.
Invalid sparse file format at header magic
Resizing 'system_b' FAILED (remote: 'Not enough space to resize partition')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Did you use the vbmeta.img in this thread or from the official rom for lisa.Download latest adb platform tools from here:
Open cmd, drag the folder to cmd.
Also copy gsi system image inside extracted folder above and try.
If i am not wrong it should flash on 'a' partition.
Try above steps
cd /adb
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot fastboot
fastboot flash system
fastboot reboot recovery
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img
fastboot reboot
fastboot boot twrp.img
because you don't have xiaomi drivers installed...install xiaomi pc suite and you will have drivers installed...After I enter this, it just stays on waiting for any device.

Update: I was able to figure it out. My device had no drivers so I went search through updates on windows and installed a LeMobile Android driver os it shows up properly in device manager.
It's written like this to be sure that people read correctly and see difference with only fastboot...it seems D mode bypass some limitations, but not sure exactly..Google is not always your friend specially on this...I'm sure that if you don't use it you can't flash correctly GSI builds...o.t. - but maybe you can also explain me what "fastbootD" (written in yellow) is ?!?
