The output suggests that you haven't installed the drivers for your device. They are located in Flashtool/drivers.
If you have, then try a different USB cable/port or PC.
If none of that helps, try downloading the FTF again, as it may be corrupted.

I've installed the drivers for the xz, flashmode and fastboot. I've also tried connecting to the other USB port but I still get the same error. I can connect to the PC companion on either of the ports. I've also tried these FTF C6603_10.4.B.0.569_Commercial_And_Journalists.ftf and C6603_10.4.B.0.569_CH.ftf but I get the same error.

Update:

This is a problem with the driver. I opened device manager and I'm seeing MTP driver not installed. I have this issue when USB debugging is on. Otherwise, my computer can recognize my phone. Also, I notice that when flashing, after I plug in the cable while holding down the volume down button, my computer is trying to install SEMC flash driver but fails. I have Windows 7 64bit. Where do I get these two drivers? I have installed the drivers in \Flashtool\drivers. Tried to use SUS but it's not working.


Update 2:

I finally flashed my device successfully. I connected it to a USB 2.0 port and all the drivers were successfully installed. Flashed the device and it was successful.

Yes, you can downgrade to 4.2.2 via flashtool... check wipe data and cache in flashtool! The warranty you do not lose, DRM keys also not.

Ok flash done. Everything OK! I also done the rooting and backup my TA partition. Now i will try to flash the 4.4

Flashtool supports Sony devices that use the S1 protocol to flash firmware.
If you mean a non Sony device, I highly doubt it will be supported.

MAC - can't find firmware folder

Hi guys, i can't find the firmware folder in which i should put the ftf file...

I'm on a mac running Mavericks, i just have the flashtool application in my App folder but no trace of the firmware folder, anyone with my same problem? can someone help me? would be truly appreciated

I have problem with flashing my xperia z,i have last flashtool,instaled drivers,but my xperia z stay in flash mode only 26 s and disconected. I try older version flashtool bat same things.And,when connect xperia z in flash mode (volume dovn + plug usb) lights red led,no green,then stayin flash mode 26 s and disconected.In fastboot mode enters normal,but my device is locked bootloader an unrooted.Now, i canot turn on xperia z,vibrates once baut not turn on screen. I enter in fastboot mode,then into fastbootmode via fastboot,when phone reconect vol down end enter in flashmode (after led blinked green)
