small problem using the guide
have a CID622 M8, flashed TWRP 2.8.1.0 and downloaded 1.60.708.2
but when i try to copy it to the device i end up with the system.ext4.win000 as "too big" to be copied to the device

Try with an external SDCard and PC ... If I'm not wrong that was some limitation with the older TWRP when mount the storage while in recovery.

worked :D restored and the OTA from hell (i think 5~6) and now on LP stock
Code:
() version-bootloader: 3.19.0.0000
() version-baseband: 1.24.21331147A1.09G
() version-main: 4.18.708.12
() version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
() product: m8_ul
() modelid: 0P6B63000
() cidnum: HTC__622
() security: on
from this point i can use any LP rom or should i have problems due to 622 CID?

You can flash any Sense based LP ROM with your current firmware without problem.
Just make sure you install only TWRP 2.8.4.0 or newer or latest.

Hi @ckpv5
My phone ID : 0p6b100 nm80P6B100 M8n
What is phone's network and RUU file to re-flash OS?
Like in ALL "help get me back to stock" threads the fastboot command "fastboot getvar all" is asked.

Same goes here....then we know pretty much all !

And you are busy with your issue here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3193187

Don't start cross posting, it's annoying and confusing ! And the same guy is helping there so not sure why to post here anyway..... You got the info there already. He doesn't know anything more here than he already knows in the other thread !

Thanks alot man. It sorted out my problem..finally got it sim unlock with code

..now looking way to root it again with custom recovery :D
Great :good::good:

To root, install latest TWRP then flash SuperSu zip in recovery
Download SuperSu : http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

But .. when your device S-On, root is not 100% functional like you can't uninstall unwanted apps and so on because the stock kernel is write protection enabled.

Install a custom kernel for example ElementalX to get full write access... or install any custom ROM that you like.

Hi ckpv5,

Thanks for a great, informative post.

I'm a total newbie to Android having just switched from an iphone. I got a HTC One M8, and everything has been working beautifully until I tried to update to Lollipop, when halfway through it stalled and just got stuck in an infinite boot loop. Apparently HTC support want nothing to do with it since the IMEI signals it was a "demo model"

Anyway, my only choice was to get involved myself - I've since successfully unlocked bootloader, and have been following your steps. Installed TWRP 2.8.3.0, since my OS version on bootloader says "3.28.401.9"

However, going through your steps I don't know which TWRP backup to download (in your posts #2 and #3). My HBOOT says 3.19.0.0000, OS is 3.28.401.9, and the CID gives me "11111111", and MID is "0P6B10000".

Please help!!

Thanks so much
Mark
