Someone once told me you can just run the .exe file, let it open, use windows to search for the rom.zip that would have been extracted into a temp folder, drag&drop to another location, then cancel the .exe again.
This works. I did it with the pico sense 3.5 rom

yes you run the ruu.exe ( example: RUU_Bravo_Froyo_Vodafone_UK_2.33.161.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_157522_signed.exe)

then in windows explore type %TEMP% press enter

look in {D0CA1E30-2DED-4C58-BB4A-E4F87AA2DB27} yours might be diffrent

then in {50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B} your may be diffrent

then right click rom.zip and copy to another folder somewhere ( may be large as 1 GIG size

right click rom.zip and use 7-zip and select Extract to rom

then I use either ext2explore or unyaff ( which ever one works)to unpack system.img

How to extract ROM_0 ? without the phone

Can you please help me , i readed back my ROM using "SP Flash Tool" , but i forget to extract it with "MTKDroid"
and i know that the program wouldn't extract the file except he reads my tablet "MT6577" (Unknown model and type).
And my mistake was i flashed a wrong ROM to my tablet and it's now half bricked , but "MTKDroid" won't read it and won't decompress the backup (ROM_0) , is there is any program could extract the file ?
