It was totally that card. In fact, if I had figured that out sooner, I might not have even done all this. lol But now I know it can be done. I did have to format to ext4 myself with the command you provided, could not mount /data otherwise. After that, Candy 5 went on smooth as silk.

Thank you!

Thank you for helping me talk it through. I've never had an SDcard fail before, so I had no clue what it looked like. That it was intermittently working made it even murkier. Thanks a ton for your expertise, it was my pleasure to document the process.

Hello,

Please search through this thread and read the OP. The white lines are not going away and will likely never go away. If they are on while the ROM is optimizing apps then leaving your screen on after that has finished will cause them to become less and less apparently until they disappear. The white lines will always appear while the boot image is running. There is some problem with the way that the test 4.4 bootloader hands off the graphics to the kernel and this will almost certainly never be fixed.

The tablet is perfectly usable except for the white lines during boot.
I was able to fix the white line issue on my v410 today. After flashing the kdz and fixing the partition sizes, I wiped it and installed one of the CM12.1 nightlies from a few weeks ago. After verifying that everything was running smoothly, other than the white lines, I rebooted into twrp, backed up the boot, aboot, abootb, encrypt, and recovery partitions via adb. I then wiped the tablet using twrp's wipe feature. Then, I restored all but the recovery partition to stock using the files navin56 provided at this post over adb. I rebooted and then flashed today's CM13 nightly build and as far as I can tell, everything is running just fine and I no longer have the white lines.

Amazing. Thanks for sharing! I'll give this a shot on my tablet when I get a chance to mess with it. I'll write up step by step instructions and add it to the OP.

Thank you!

I've been using the tablet all day, and so far I have yet to see any issues. I can get into fastboot, download mode, recovery, and normal mode flawlessly. For me, everything seems to be running as it should.

"White Lines Fix" section has been added to OP. Turns out we just have to flash the aboot partition (as far as I can tell anyhow).

Marcsoup, great find! What inspired you to flash those partitions? Just a hunch or more out of curiosity? Either way, mad props dude. You took what could have been a pretty big risk to help the community. Thank you.

What ROM are you using?

Either way, if you are rooted I don't think that stock Lollipop will even try to install on these tablets.
i was on stock kk but right now i'm applying the fix for the White lines and actually lost my backup so, i'm thinking to move to cm13 but really like to use the IR remote, so... xD

btw, do you know a way to make it work on cm? thanks bro

Not at the moment, but that's a good question. I'll post back if I come across something though.

It was exactly that, curiosity.

I was bored at work, and thought "Tablet's not working properly anyway, not the worst thing if I break it further."

I figured something about the bootloader had to have changed, wasn't sure exactly what or where, and was going to try flashing everything to stock and go from there to figure it out. When I rebooted to make sure I didn't blow up the tablet, everything seemed fine, and I was thinking "huh? That simple?" and immediately posted it here.

Glad my bored curiosity could be of assistance :)

thanks man, as far as i founded in this forums there are many ports of quick remote for cm12 but most of them for g2 and g3, nothing for our tablet. Here are some links, i haven't tried them all, but the instructions provided didn't work. Also cm doesn't recognize the IR blaster, so other IR apps from playstore are uncompatible. I hope you or someone else could figure out how to solve this mistery xD

After following this tutorial, I've been having issues with flashing the latest CM13 nightlies. Sometimes it never boots in. Sometimes, the settings FCs, etc. I'm using OpenGapps. Anyone else getting it working?

Awesome post, thanks so much!

As an aside, I had some trouble with the ext2 partition of userdata. After running the ext4 conversion in the couple of posts below the OP and rebooting a few times, I was able to flash Candy5 and Gapps. Everything is running smooth now.
