- I have a Lumia 820 that I want to unlock the bootloader on, and then later restore the bootloader to its locked state. I see that the program has an option called "Restore bootloader". Is that what it does, relock the bootloader? If not, is there a way to relock an unlocked bootloader?

- Is the bootloader unlock process plug-and-play or are there any tutorials for how the whole process is done?

Yes, Restore bootloader option can be used to relock it.

As for tutorials, look around here on XDA, and read the getting started page in the WPInternals application too

The restore bootloader function basically restores it. I think it reinstalls it. I say this because i had a Lumia 520 with damaged bootloader (just for letting it in a drawer for over a year with the battery inside) and then i restored bootloader and then it booted.

Just a quick question, I'm about to use the updated Windows Phone Internals 2.3. I only want to Unlock the Bootloader and Enable root access (for Lumia 950). Doing these alone shouldn't erase phone data, right?

No, it won't erase phone data but if something goes wrong, your phone can brick.

erreur bad FFU File

bonjour ,
Je souhaiterai savoir quel fichier .bin je dois installer car lorsque je mets le fichier \RM1089_059w9m1_02074.00000.15234.28004_031.signature.bin (téléchargé depuis le site de lumia), j'ai un message d'erreur:
"Bad FFU file
Bad FFU file: C:\user\admin\desktop\lumia 535\RM1089_059w9m1_02074.00000.15234.28004_031.signature.bin.
le format de l'executable (.exe) ou de la bibliothèque(.dll) n'est pas valide"
d'ou vient le problème? merci de votre aide.

I am being to unlock my 950XL but when I run the unlock procedure, I get the error code BAD GPT. What means? The phone reboot in normal mode with no issue...

Well, you can get the FFU file of your Lumia at lumiafirmwaredotcom. But after unlocking the bootloader from the selected FFU file, will flashing the FFU file with unlocked bootloader erase all data from my phone??? I'm just making sure before I start the process because I have a game (mostly used) named Asphalt 8: Airborne, and I don't want to get it erased coz it took literally two days to fully download it... Since we have a slow internet connection (about 70+ to 90+ KB/s average), I cant do it again! So, in conclusion, will this erase all data from my phone after flashing it with unlocked bootloader???????

unlocking the bootloader won't erase the data, but flashing any ROM to your device will

I'm following this to the T but when I get to step 2 to unlock Root Access I simply get Mass Storage mode failed.

I'm trying to do this on a Lumia 928 so I don't have an SLB3 file which I suspect is the problem. Even when linking the retail .ffu to extract the SLB3 it does nothing.

Am I SOL in even trying to unlock Mass Storage mode to create a back-up?

it seems that windows internal supports lumia 540 device but I have some problem trying to unlock the bootloader.
is there any emergency files to lumia 540 or should I apply a specific process to unlock that device and install another OS.

Hello everyone, I have found a Lumia 1520 and would like to install Android (LineageOS) and I have been trying to follow the tutorial and I am missing several things.

- When I try to unlock the bootloader it asks for 3 files, 2 with the extension ".ffu" and one with the extension ".ede" I have tried to put the official ROM files ".ffu" and it gives me an error ("The OS version of the selected FFU is not supported. Select a donor-FFU with a supported OS version.") and does not allow me to do so.

Someone who can help me please?

I also can't find the file with the extension ".SBL3" can someone tell me where it is?
