If you choose CDMA only I believe it uses Sprint towers don't quote me on that though

I can get to EPST by dialing ##3272 but when I hit edit it doesn't have anything to do with PRL when I dial ##778# it does nothing. Any ideas?
The rom your on may not support EPST
That's just weird that I can get to EPST from one way, and it not be the correct EPST. Are there two EPST's?
There is one with more accessible menus, like ##778

Make sure your build prop user is set to dev, than try again! Look in your system/apps folder and look for epst. If its there, than ur good!
ro.build.type=user
is what it was, changed it to
ro.build.type=dev
EPST is definitely in system/app folder
Moron question here... but I could do this on my gs3. My one is not rooted. Do I need to be rooted to do the ##778?
I do it and nothing happens.

Your missing a # after the 8. without it you will not see EPST. Could be a typo on your part....just sayin cause we all have wtf moments now and then.
So I am new to this if I update to 56015 and switch to roam only I will roam on Verizon 3g? If so when I switch back to automatic or home only it will revert back to sprint service or do I have to update prl to get back to sprint. I only ask because I always force roam at work with slow 1x Verizon and switch back when I leave work to avoid too much roaming data.

ok... so I selected the prl and tap commit changes. Now it gets stuck on the please wait while commiting change for a minute and then comes up "radio no response.can not enter low power mode" Anyone have any clue what I am doing wrong. I tried 56014 and 56015 both were the same. I am running ecliptic one 3.7 and build.prop did not need to be editted as it was already ro.build.type dev out of the box.
I'm on ElipticOne v3.6 I went to setting/system updates and did a PRL update it gave me 55016
I then went to the dialer and used the code ##778# and updated my PRL to 56015
IDK what the problem could be

Okay I don't know what I'm doing wrong but after updating my PRL to 56015 and updating my profile, I go to the mobile data settings and changing to CDMA only and on roaming I change to roam only. After that the signal bar shows the roaming triangle but no data connection and I get a bunch of popup windows with code 78 error, i also get an exclamation triangle in my status bar saying " Data Roaming( You have lost data connection due to to leaving your wireless coverage". Sometimes eventually will connect to 1X only and and drop the connection after a while.and go back to error 78.
I tried with PRL 00001 and 00002 to test my phone with those and I'm able to connect forcing roaming to 1X speed only and no error pop ups. The phone shows like is roaming and the pull down bar says "digital roaming" if I change the roaming setting to automatic it will go back to 3G without roaming but like the warning on the OP says "I may be roaming without knowing"
After testing Saturday-Monday I have check my data usage and I only have 7 Mb of roaming, even tough I left 1X roaming with PRL 00001 for a couple hours playing tune in radio and some Pandora.
For FYI,
I'm running viper rom with s/off and one weird thing that I noticed is after I change the roaming mode to roam only and exit out the menu and comeback later I noticed that the roam only is no longer checked and actually all the 3 options are blank.

I am on 00003 and got it to roam on verizon 3g. You might want to try that. Previously I was able to roam on 56014 but couldn't get it to stick after try sprints new prl to see if 4g was finally up to par in my area. I am on viper rom. Good luck.
