Okay I don't know what I'm doing wrong but after updating my PRL to 56015 and updating my profile, I go to the mobile data settings and changing to CDMA only and on roaming I change to roam only. After that the signal bar shows the roaming triangle but no data connection and I get a bunch of popup windows with code 78 error, i also get an exclamation triangle in my status bar saying " Data Roaming( You have lost data connection due to to leaving your wireless coverage". Sometimes eventually will connect to 1X only and and drop the connection after a while.and go back to error 78.

I tried with PRL 00001 and 00002 to test my phone with those and I'm able to connect forcing roaming to 1X speed only and no error pop ups. The phone shows like is roaming and the pull down bar says "digital roaming" if I change the roaming setting to automatic it will go back to 3G without roaming but like the warning on the OP says "I may be roaming without knowing"

After testing Saturday-Monday I have check my data usage and I only have 7 Mb of roaming, even tough I left 1X roaming with PRL 00001 for a couple hours playing tune in radio and some Pandora.

For FYI,

I'm running viper rom with s/off and one weird thing that I noticed is after I change the roaming mode to roam only and exit out the menu and comeback later I noticed that the roam only is no longer checked and actually all the 3 options are blank.
Updating profile erases the PRL that you put on there I believe.

PRL updating without a pc:

NOTE: This will only work on sense roms with epst support.

How to change the build.prop:

There are a few ways to change build.prop. The easiest imo is to use an app like kernel tuner to change it. KT even has a nice backup and restore option. You could also take your favorite file explorer and navigate to /system and open build.prop as text and edit there. If you are adb savvy then you could pull the file, edit it with a program like notepad++, and push it back to your device with proper permissions.

Code:
ro.build.type user
to
ro.build.type dev
1. Extract the PRL.zip attached below
2. Move your chosen PRL to your device
3. Reboot and let the system fully load (or there will be lag in EPST) and enter dialer.
4. Enter ##778# and choose edit. Enter MSL and choose prl.
5. Select update prl and select a prl from your sd card.
6. Select menu in the upper right corner and commit modifications.
7. EPST will reboot the device and the prl should be applied.
8. It is always a good idea to update your profile after a prl change. Enjoy!
9. If you want to go back to your default PRL just go into settings and update PRL.

OMJ has an option in his MOD Pack to make the change for you,if you use his MOD Pack please thank him.
Attached below is a script OMJ wrote that will make the build.prop change for you no file explorer needed just flash in recovery. Please thank him.I'm not 100% sure it will work on the HTC One he originally wrote it for the HTC Evo 4G LTE.

Use at your own risk manually updating your PRL could brick your device!!![/B]
So forgive me if this is basic knowledge but I am coming from the at&t/GSM world and am well versed in navigating in that world but still learning the CDMA settings and such...

So I have OMJ's ROM and MODs, s-off, rooted, etc...

Following the instructions above with no issues until step 4. When I choose edit it asks for a passcode?

What am I missing, haven't had this device but a week or so and know of no password/passcode for the device....

Thanks,

MG

does this method require s-off? this is basically the same method as my evo 3d. I switched prl all the time. now I have build prop edit, msl everything, exept after I change prl and commit, reboot ive updated profile when I go to about phone it is always 55015 never changes. I don't get it?

No S-OFF needed...if you are stock rooted I don't think it works.
Also did you extract the PRL from the zip?

I chatted with Sprint and they gave me a 6 digit number. The rep said that there was not a MSL available for my device, but that I could use the code he gave me. Anyone else get this or did you actually get your MSL?
Every MSL I've ever gotten has also been a 6-digit number. Maybe that rep knows it by a different name? Who knows.....have you tried it? If it works, who cares what they call it. :)
