So dirty raccoon is s-off? Sorry I'm confused. Order would be dev-unlock, s-off, then root and recovery? This is the first phone I've actually rooted, a guy at a store rooted my old one.

S-OFF requires you to be locked, if you use DirtyRacun don't take the new OTA it may or may not work with the new update. http://unlimited.io/jewel.htm

Is there any other way to get busy box working or do I even need it? I used your method to root my phone root checker status says rooted but busy box not found

To be honest I'm not sure if busybox is needed I do know it is in most if not all custom roms

So I used the instructions here to unlock my bootloader, install TWRP custom recovery and superuser. I am now unable to flash any roms. The rom install process begins, but never gives me the successfully completed message. Instead, it just boots into the white HTC screen and stays there.

Can somebody give me a hand please? I have searched and tried everything I can come up with, but nothing seems to work. Thanks.

Download the older versions of twrp zip from post 2 and use 2.3.1.0 for now 2.4.1.0 has some problems

Can i do s-off with win7 64bit? Because i don't have a installer 32bit. Thanks

No. Google Wubi and install it then Google ubuntu 12.10 32 bit, download it to the same folder as wubi. Then run wubi and it'll ask at some point what distro and choose the 32 bit. More info can be found where wubi is.

I'm at this point in the readme

Once in bootloader, choose “FASTBOOT”, hit the Power button, then plug-in your microUSB cable from your phone to computer.
Now type "fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-jewel.img" without the quotes and press enter

no cmd screen pops up to type in.
i have win xp, htc drivers and sync installed. any ideas?
i'm unlocked, evo screen says i'm in fastboot usb

confused!!

I can not find the readme.txt that you are referring to in some of the other post. What zip file is it supposed to located in? What files should I use for the latest 3.16 firm/2.09 HBOOT? Also when I look at DirtyRacun, it says that I should have twrp installed before getting S-off, how do I go about doing that? Thanks in advance!!!
