Can't for the life of me get my computer to recognize my phone. I tried the 64 bit drivers and installed HTC Sync (which didn't require an update), any idea why I might have this issue?

Uninstall everything HTC reboot your phone and pc once booted plug your phone in and it should install a bunch of drivers it will also install drivers when you boot to boatloader

So seems like it might be a hardware problem. It says my device failed enumeration. Could it be the cable? The phone charges fine...I tried two USB ports on my laptop.

It seems to connect fine when I'm not in bootloader mode.

You could also try updating you Android-sdk folder there have been quite a few updates the past couple weeks including drivers

Thanks for the responses. Have it unlocked and rooted...turns out the computer was the culprit.

Do I need to do anything special to install a CM10 nightly? Or is it just download and install via TWRP?

The instructions talk about using fastboot to install the kernel.

If you are s-on you will have to fastboot flash the boot.img/kernel also if you flash a version with an older kernel you screen won't respond. The kernels that are 3.4(I think)are the updated version. I only flash sense roms

In that case if I flash a sense ROM its just normal? And any recommendations? I mostly am just looking to make sure the kernel let's me make use of WiFi tether for root users.

I have used most of the sense roms I suggest looking through the OP and see if that rom has what you're looking for.I think most have the WiFi hack included

Hello,

I'm stuck trying to root my phone and not sure where to go from here. I downloaded the packet of everything then ran the HTC dev thing to unlock the bootloader which worked. I typed in the command to send the recovery and it says:

c:\Android>fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-jewel.img
sending 'recovery' (8196 KB)...

It's been hanging like this for 60 minutes, I assume it should be quicker than that? My phone doesn't respond to button presses. Can I close the dialog box on my computer and try restarting my phone and do the same process again?

thanks for any help!

Exit the command terminal, reboot and try again. Make sure the recovery file is in your ADB/fastboot folder and that your phone and computer are connected via fastboot USB mode, just like when you unlocked your bootloader.
