super super zip?
Hah! Yeah, that. I mean supersu. Not everything in my rom recognizes I'm rooted. I was wanting to flash supersu separately to see if that fixes it.

I'm not at a place where I can download your pack and take just it out. I found the main supersu thread in xda but I wasn't sure if that was compatible with the ltevo as is.

I used the procedure outlined by the OP yesterday to get my EVO LTE unlocked and ready for action.

Everything worked as described by the OP and I thought I was ready for ANY ROM although I am not so sure that I am which is why I have made this post....
So far I can get MEANBEAN_v1.9 to work. I get stuck on the boot animation screens for JellyBAM, CM10 for EvoLTE, and Paranoid Android so I am wondering if it's because I am not reading between the lines properly. Do I need a new Kernel, or is my HBOOT version the problem?

According to my screen (Power button + Vol Down) I have the following:-
*** UNLOCKED ***
JEWEL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-SPECS_001
HBOOT-2.09.0000
RADIO-1.12.11.1119

I'm trying to flash Roms using TWRP 2.3.3.0.

Any advice greatly apprieciated, and thanks in advance. Also thankyou to the OP for the original procedure which as I said above worked perfectly !!

Those are no sense roms which would first require the boot. In installed.
Hello Mario23. Can you PM me with a procedure for no sense Roms as I am not sure I follow what is required. Where do i get the Boot.img from? It doesnt need to be anything complicated like a tutorial etc.

Something simple like, Recovery and Wipe cache/Factory Reset/syetem, then Fastboot install Boot.img, reboot into recovery, flash ROM, reboot, enjoy !!

First Timer In Need of Help

Hello All,
This is my first time ever attempting to root my phone on my own. In the past, I've had a friend do it for me. I want to learn how to do it myself this time. I have been able to follow the proceedures to unlock the bootloader which took me forever to figure out but I finally did get it. My software version is 3.15.651.16 710RD. I have downloaded the required file at the begining of this post a few days ago but when it comes to the part where it tells me to flash twrp I get lost. I don't know how to do this part. I did see on here today that the the files are currently pulled for some issues. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would be able to talk me thru the rest of the root proceedures.
Thanks in advance, ProlibuSS

The files you need to root are here the files I pulled you won't need unless you want to return to stock. you are already on the latest firmware so you don't need them as of right now :D Just follow the read me text and it tells you how to install twrp. If you are still confused feel free to PM me :D

S-On unlocked/tampered?

So I used this method to unlock and root my EVO LTE. All went well except now when I go into bootloader, my phone says S-on. Above it's says unlocked and above that its says tampered? Is this a problem? TB says Im rooted and I can use root only apps, but just wondering if the latter is an issue ? Nevermind my sig at the bottom, I havent updated it fully.

First Timer and I Did It!!!

First I would like to thank bigdaddy for all the help. It is nice to know that there are still good people out there that are willing to help out us beginners. I am currently rooted still running the stock rom and s_on. I wanted to run the WiFi tether app for root users but I can't get it to work. I have tried superuser and supersu with no success. I have been told that there are some issues with phones that are still s_on. Can I use an s_off exploit with my stock rom or should I go to a different Rom like meanbean?
Thanks, Prolibuss

Just so that I am 100% clear, the file that you linked to in this post will work?
This is what is confusing me(in post 1) - Root method,3.15.651.16 RUU/HBOOT 2.09,Stock Recovery all in one(1)folder HERE <---- Updated 01/05/13 Pulled for now seems there are some issues with the 3.15 RUU

And that I will likely need to use the Supersu in post 2 if I have issues?

My current situation(STOCK):
Software Version: 3.15.651.16.710RD
***LOCKED***
Jewel PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.09.000
RADIO-1.12.11.1119
