Being s-off there was no need to re-lock the bootloader. :)
You will have to unlock again to flash twrp then you can flash SU.
Unfortunately I found that out after the damage was already done. Is there any way to unlock the bootloader other than HTCDev? don't want to lose all my data without being able to make a nandroid backup first.
After googling for the entire day I found this http://blog.drdroid.eu/2014/03/flash-twrp-on-htc-one-w-locked-bootloader-s-off/ would you recommend I try this? would it work? could it brick my device?

The link you provided is not for the Sprint M8 if you could find the correct files I think it would work (never tried so just a guess).
I wouldn't recommend it unless you have 100% correct files.

You can fastboot flash TWRP as a zip. It has to include android-info.txt file from a firmware zip and the TWRP image named recovery.img.

Thanks for the info! :good:
I used -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534428 to pull the android-info.txt file (attached) from the firmware zip and renamed the TWRP. Will use 7-zip to zip and try the flash later and report back.

Update:
It worked! Flashed TWRP and was able to backup and flash su! :D:D

Sunshine rocks

I thought Sunshine was an app you could use try and root an HTC One M8, isn´t it?:)
After messing around with the phone for a couple of days, I gave sunshine $25 bucks and they sorted my phone out. Go by htcdev.com and unlock your bootloader, flash TWRP recovery, flash latest version of SuperSu, then run sunshine.

Dumb question, is there an s-on way to go back to pure stock including recovery? I never flashed a custom ROM, just TWRP and can't seem to find a stock recovery to flash.
