Sir how do i install flash drivers?it must be in flashmode or connected on the pc while your phone is on

Go to c drive then flashtool then drivers folder and install flashtool-drivers.exe

I just would like to say thanks for sharing such good guide its really helpful.
the one thing i would like to share in here that i had gotten on this experience is that, after run the rooting tool and when it will say done, remove the usb cable and takeout the battery and put it back and then do flash the original kernel, other than that it wont work.

my phone is still on .587 i flashed it about 5 times still nothing..is it ok to root now? what if i brick my phone? is there any way that i can unbrick it..just to be sure TIA!

And if you can just flash the stock ftf again and it will be fine :good:

Yep just continue with the given procedure and everything should be fine....btw im not sure about .567 showing coz i have mini pro so it doesn't even show the homescreen when I change the kernel.... anyways continue rooting nothing should be wrong and if it will be i'll help u

Since Sony deleted the rooting guide from it's website that's why I'm making this new guide. If I have done something wrong so moderators, please remind me and i'll delete the guide.

Rooting your mobile may void the warranty and you are doing it at your own risk. Sony(and me) would be in no way responsible for any damage.

How to root 4.0.4(4.1.B.0.587)

Follow all the steps please

Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"

Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging

Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode

You should have Flashtool

1 ) Download the respective 4.1.A.0.562 kernel to flash

Arc and Arc S - Kernel

Ray - Kernel

Neo/Neo V - Kernel

LwW, Mini - Kernel

All other users - Kernel or even try the kernels for Arc S and Ray



2) Go to C:/ Drive > flashtool > firmwares > delete everything present and Put the kernel

3) Run Flashtool click on the flashing icon ( left side below "file" option)

Select flashmode > ok

Setup should be like this > select OK

Follow the steps connect your mobile and flash.

( Make sure you close flashtool before running the rooting toolkit )

Now connect your mobile to PC and Root Your Phone

If you face problem in downloading the toolkit then here it is Rooting Toolkit
After running the toolkit disconnect the phone from USB, pull out the battery, wait for 10 sec, insert the battery back, hold vol down button and then connect to USB and connect USB to pc.

5) Download the respective kernel for your phone.

Arc -KERNEL

Ray -KERNEL

Neo -KERNEL

Neo V -KERNEL

Mini -KERNEL

Pro-KERNEL

Live With Walkman -KERNEL

Mini Pro -KERNEL

Active -KERNEL

Now flash the kernel ( same procedure as step 2 and 3 above )


Now enjoy you rooted phone

Yes everyting checked ! I have the mini pro sk17i you said that if i flash the arc kernel for example and restart the phone just doesn't open the phone... it sontiniously restart the phone so that's why i can't get it rooted!
