I have a problem with this method.
I started following this guide: i made the cable and connected it to the test point. I TURNED OFF THE PHONE (maybe this was my mistake), connected the cable to the phone and then to the pc. In that moment (please don't laugh :p) I realized that the phone had to be turned on and tried to turn it on: it only vibrates but it doesn't turn on. PANIC. Tried to pull off the battery and pull on again, no way. Now I connected the phone to the wall to charge it, but it doesn't turn on anymore. Flashtool doesn't recognize it.
What can I do? Is it gone?

EDIT: Don't mind, I flashed original .ftf with flashtool and the phone was restored. But I have another trouble:
what I have to do when s1tool says

TO CONNECT NEXT PHONES
X10 Xperia,E10 Mini,E15 Xperia X8,U20 Mini Pro
LT15 Xperia ARC,MT15 Xperia NEO,R800 Xperia PLAY
PRESS AND HOLD "BACK" BUTTON...

ST18 Xperia RAY,ST15 Xperia Mini,SK17 Xperia Mini Pro
PRESS AND HOLD "Volume Down" BUTTON...

PLEASE ATTACH TURNED OFF PHONE NOW

I have a mk16i (xperia pro), and it will not appear in the lists above. I tried disconnecting the usb cable and reconnecting it while pressing "back" button: the progress bar stops and s1tool appear to be freezed. After a while, I disconnected the phone and checked the bootloader status, but it was not unlocked.

Follow the following steps to unlock the bootloader of your Xperia 2011 device.Unlcoking bootloader lets you flash custom kernels and ROMs to your device.

(...)

You are Done

Hit Thanks if this post helped, is helping or, will help you.
Thanks for this awesome tutorial you made this process as easy that the most difficult thing for me was getting that piece of wire:p and later installing fastboot drivers. Thanks again, man:D:victory::eek::cool::good:

Hi,

How can you unlock SIM using the testpoint?
I downloaded a software called Omnius SE, and I want to carrier unlock Sony Xperia Mini Pro, but I had no luck.
Can you please explain to me the steps? I tried following the steps in the software, but didn't work.

Thanks.

Update: It seems that the MDPI devices which were manufactured at later times have been implemented with Sony protection, which does not allow you to unlock the boot-loader with the current version of s1Tool. You will need to use the Official Sony method and loose the DRM keys in the process.

Follow the following steps to unlock the bootloader of your Xperia 2011 device.
Unlcoking bootloader lets you flash custom kernels and ROMs to your device.
If you end up doing something wrong, flash firmware using flashtool.
I do not care if you spill coffee on your phone while doing all this. I will try to help you as much as I can, in such a case, but I can never guarantee

If you unlock your bootloader by this method, you will not loose the DRM keys of your phone. This means that apps like Track ID will work even on unlocked bootloader.
You can lock your bootloader again, and flash the stock Sony Firmware, and your phone will be as it was when it came from factory.

1. Saftey Pin
2. Short Piece of Wire
3. USB Cable [MicroUsb male to USB male]
4. s1tool [Here]

1. Download the s1tool.rar and extract the files to your Desktop (for referencial purposes)
2. Open up Phone Dialer app, and type
Code:
*#*#7378423#*#*
3. Go to Service Info... Configuration... And see whats there in Rooting Status. If it reads like:
Code:
Rooting Status:
  Bootloader unlock Status: Yes
proceed. Else, do not attempt to unlock the bootloader

1. Connect the piece of wire with the USB Cable and the saftey pin as shown.

This is your testpoint cable.

1. Open up the back cover of your phone.
2. Remove the Battery of your Phone
3. Locate the test point taking help of the images given below.

1. Plug in the microUSB Port of the USB cable to your phone (Along with one wire end connected).
2. Take the sharp end of the saftey pin, and hold it on the test point.
3. Keep the pin in place using your left hand.
4. Using your right hand, plug in the male USB end of the USB port into your PC.

Windows will try to find the drivers and will attempt to install them.

5. Remove test point wire from the test point now.

PC will fail to install drivers automatically. Now, follow the steps taking help of the screenshots given below to install the drivers automatically.

1. Open s1tool.exe as shown

2. You will get a window as shown.

3. Click on Patch SEMCBoot.

4. Hold saftey pin end on test point as before, using the left hand.
5. Click on Testpoint Ready.
6. You will get the following window, with the progress bar at the bottom.

7. As soon as you get this window, insert the USB Cable to the PC.
8. You will get the following message,
Code:
PROCESSING…
REMOVE TESTPOINT NOW, THEN PRESS “READY”
thus confirming detection of the phone.
9. Remove the saftey pin from the Test Point.
10. Now, click on Test Point Ready once again, and you will get the following window.

11. Disconnect Phone from PC.

You are Done

Hit Thanks if this post helped, is helping or, will help you.

Ok so my sister gave me her SE Play R800X, and the Root Status stuff is missing from the service menu. I've looked everywhere and come to the conclusion that there is no way to unlock the bootloader without paying for the code. Am i correct? It is my understanding that i can unlock still using testpoint method, but wont be able to access fastboot mode which kinda is the whole purpose of unlocking. I give sony credit tho, I can usually unlock any bootloader and flash custom roms on most devices i get my hands on, but this xperia is in lockdown. Its the only one i have failed to unlock so far. I am not worried about the ability to access cellular data or even use the phone. I have my Galaxy S4 for my everyday phone needs, but i did want to check out some different roms in this. If i can unlock i might just even try to get it on tmobile prepaid. Thanks in advanced.

Hi there!
I can't see very well on the picture with the usb cable and the wire. Is the wire around the male micro usb or is somehow inserted.

Thanks

Flashing kernel, Test Point Unlocked

Hi everyone!
Yesterday I unlocked bootloader of my Arc, and now I'd like to flash XUK, but.. I read that phones with bootloader unlocked by Test point method can't be flashed with a .img kernel, only with .ftf. Is that true?
And if is, how can I convert boot.img -> boot.ftf to flash it with flashtool?

Thanks a lot :)

Hi ladies and gentlemen.

As my brother-in-law has a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo (MT15i) that is SIM-locked and does NOT have the "Bootloader unlock available" attribute mentioned ANYWHERE in the service menu, what would be the consequences if I was to carry on attempting to do this process regardless of the aforementioned omission? Would there actually be damage caused as a result of this?
