How To Unlock BootLoader...

Information:
1: You MAY void your warranty!
2: Unlocking bootloader will result in data loss! Be sure to backup! (SD-Card won't be affected)
Other Info:
So I've never seen any Tutorial on this for Xperia V and decided to make one!
Step 1: Download 'Xperia V Unlocked BootLoader.zip' from here ---> http://www.mediafire.com/?hn1n73rfi6dapw0

Step 2: Extract the file you downloaded above on your PC. You’ll get the following three files:

1: drivers.zip
2: fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.zip
3: unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
Step 3: Head over to 'unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com'

1: This will open a web page in your default browser. Scroll to the bottom of the Instructions on the page and you’ll see a link like “Continue”, click on it.
2: In the pop-up window click “Yes, I’m sure” and then in the next window click on both the checkboxes, and then click “I accept”.
Step 4: Now insert the details as per the instructions

Remember! IMEI can be found by entering *#06# in the phone application!
Step 5: You’ll get a KEY to unlock boot loader. The KEY can be found in your inbox. Write it down somewhere you can remember, it will be used later.

Step 6: Extract everything in step 2 into a folder

Step 7: Put your phone into fastboot mode

Turn your phone off. Press and hold Volume Up button while plugging your phone into your PC. A blue LED will come on
Step 8: Install your device driver
1: Search 'Device Manager' in the start menu
2: Right click your device (Should be S1Boot Fastboot OR Android Phone)
3: Click 'Update Driver'
4: Locate the driver folder (Remember to extract 'driver.zip')
5: It will automatically install
Step 9: Now extract the fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.zip

Step 10: In the same folder as the extracted content of fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.zip, open command promt

Hold Shift while right-clicking in the folder and select 'Open Command Promt'
Step 11: Here is the important part. Type these commands to unlock your bootloader!
1: Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
2: It should return a value like “0.5”. This ensures that your device is correctly connected
3: Now type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
Important! Remember the code you recieved? Replace KEY with that :)
Step 12: Let it run and when it is finished, your phone's bootloader should be unlocked!

That's it from me! Please leave a comment if i have done anything wrong. (First Tutorial post by the way ;) )

I mean, I've already done all the steps, and it appeared to be successful. But where in the phone could we see that the bootloader is unlocked?

....And when unlocked, did Mobile Bravia Engine 2 still works? Try to BE off then make a screenshot, the same goes to when BE is on. Make a comparison. This is a known bug for 2012 Xperia phones. Did Xperia V included?

SlenderMan,

I urged you to edit your thread to warn people if they decide to unlock the bootloader of their Xperia V smartphone. On my Walkman app you will get a security error when trying download music info. Yet I tried fixing but to no avail by using this thread:-

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006356

Also tried this :-

1.Move CredentialManagerService.apk from /system/app to your SD card.
2.Reboot your phone.
3.Move back CredentialManagerService.apk from SD card to /system/app
4.Change permissions to rw-r-r
5.Reboot your phone.

But still unsuccessful. I used the playerpro app anyway but to let you know this will happen to smartphone if they choose to unlock their bootloader.

I think my Mobile Bravia Engine 2 is fine but it broke the download music info using the walkman app.

Dial *#*#7378423#*#*. Go to Service info → Configuration.

Bootloader unlock allowed - No: bootloader is locked. Unlock impossible.
Is it 100% impossible to unlock the phone?
Is there no other way? :(
Because I really need to use a different SIM on my phone.

I got some troubles in step 7&8.

I switch the phone off.
I push and hold the volume up button to enter "fastboot".
The blue LED will turn on and then the first time I got a message that drivers where missing and I closed that message.
But then the blue LED turned off and I only can find "Sony USB storage" in my device manager.

I tried it several times again and now every time I enter "fastboot" the blue LED will only stay on for about 10 seconds.
I can not find the device (S1_fastboot or Android Phone) fast enough before the blue LED turns off and then I can only find again the "Sony USB storage" device.

Deleted the drivers of the device "Sony USB storage", but then after I enter fastboot (blue LED turns on) and the blue LED turns off again it will automatically install these drivers again (because I suppose as soon as the blue LED turns off I leave the "fastboot" mode).

Any suggestions anybody.

Please advice.

Ok it worked. I just had 10 seconds to install the driver as long as fastboot was "activated" (blue LED was on).
I had to do this in 3 times.
First to see in device manager where the device would appear (S1 fastboot).
Then to "right click" the device and select install driver. Select the driver folder.
Then again in fastboot and installed driver.

Weird? Everything that didn't work for you worked for me with unlocked bootloader.
