How To Unlock BootLoader...

Information:

Other Info:

Step 1: Download 'Xperia V Unlocked BootLoader.zip' from here ---> http://www.mediafire.com/?hn1n73rfi6dapw0

Step 2: Extract the file you downloaded above on your PC. You’ll get the following three files:

Step 3: Head over to 'unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com'

Step 4: Now insert the details as per the instructions

Step 5: You’ll get a KEY to unlock boot loader. The KEY can be found in your inbox. Write it down somewhere you can remember, it will be used later.

Step 6: Extract everything in step 2 into a folder

Step 7: Put your phone into fastboot mode

Step 8: Install your device driver

Step 9: Now extract the fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.zip

Step 10: In the same folder as the extracted content of fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.zip, open command promt

Step 11: Here is the important part. Type these commands to unlock your bootloader!

Step 12: Let it run and when it is finished, your phone's bootloader should be unlocked!

That's it from me! Please leave a comment if i have done anything wrong. (First Tutorial post by the way ;) )
Error found on step 10.

Correct way should be:

Hold SHIFT and right click on the background of the folder name FASTBOOT!

not on the whole folder.

Dude Schuan,

Thanks a million for the tip!!! I wasn’t expecting any follow up on my query on how to unlock this enigmatic bootloader of Xperia V. I believe the steps you have just outlined will work seamlessly, however, my case may be a bit different.

I have long since looked for a solution, but I believe there isn’t a ‘soft’ approach to my problem. It concerns unlocking a bootloader for a device that indicates that the hardware does not allow one to unlock the BL.

One can find this out by typing *#*#7378423#*#* (*The numbers actually form the word ‘SERVICE’, neat!) and once inside, tap “Service info>Configuration>Rooting Status” if the “Bootloader unlock allowed” states YES, then I believe your instructions will be valuable to many users. If, however, it states NO, then I think there’s nothing one can do to unlock your Xperia device bootloader, except through some ‘hardware approach’ that changes this status using brute force (i.e. wires, short-circuting some contact points by opening the back of the phone, etc. – this I believe is available for some devices, not yet for the V)

Anyways, I haven’t really looked into your procedures. But unless there are new developments on SONY’s side, on unlocking the BL with a soft approach, then I’m ready to try it out. But if this trails off to the usual SONY website that I’ve been to, then I guess I may have to wait, or simply be content with my stock ROM, sob, sob, sob.

Thanks a again!

p.s. will get back to you on how things may work out... thanks a million again.

dear all,

maybe it would be good to notify readers (Ahead of time, before they even click on the SONY website, this NOTICE:

Please note! It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases. You can check if it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device in the service menu by following the steps below:
In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

sadly, it seems that there is no way to go around this... i'm only curious why this setup is in some devices and in others not... strange!!! ;-(

Thanks Krasimiretov,
just went to the Sony site followed the number to dial in and it says my bootloader is set to NO? Does this mean I can't unlock my phone?

Follow this steps:
In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, if it says NO then you can't unlock your bootloader. You can install roms with LB support only. :)

TX Manual

I got this error during step 8 for Xperia TX:
The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering.

Does V driver work for TX?

Thanks,

Sam

Thanks, however my device is bootloader unlockable but the driver in this forum doesn't support TX devices. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

I also download the flashboot driver from Sony official site but still it doesn't recognize. The instruction from Sony is to copy this file "android_winusb.inf" from the zip folder to replace the one in \AppData\Local\Android\sdk\extras\google\usb_driver but when I install it directly or through Device Manager wizard I got the error message from my previous post

Look like whatever inside the usb_driver deny the new inf due to security.

Any idea?
