TV Bro is the best browser for Android TV that I've found.

Can anyone help with video issues:
1. Cannot play a video in full screen. This worked until recently but stopped working in version 1.8.6

2. Other videos cannot play because of "Remove sandbox attributes on the iframe tag".

Any advice with either problem will be appreciated.

Hey there great app! I was wondering if anyone is aware of a way to send a URL to this app via ADB commands?

I'm trying to setup some automation that leverages this browser on Android TV
I used TV App Repo to create a shortcut to a URL.
I then used Button Mapper to assign this shortcut to a button on the TV remote.
By pressing the tv remote button, it now opens the URL directly in TV Bro.

I love love love TVBro browser. I had installed and searched for many browsers for my tv before but they didn't suit me. And this TVbro is the best and satisfy me the most. I love the work good work.
Just a small problem, for the fullscreen in player, it won't go full screen. But it is okay as I didn't realise that until I accidently scrolled down then it appears it wasn't on fullscreen mode lol. But it would be much better to be on a real full screen as the black edge won't appear as my TV is slim.
Love ♡

I checked the app on my android phone too for the full-screen issue and can confirm that its not an issue from Android webview but specific to TV bro

Cleaning data of TVBro and uninstalling updates of WebView worked for me to solve the full screen bug

Removing the webview update already works, but now I have lost the dark theme, any ideas?

Hi all,

First off, I'm a big fan of the browser, so thanks for the great work =)

I was just wondering if there is some way to remove cookies?
I've searched the options tabs, tried clearing the tv-bro data, uninstalling the app and restarted my tv before reinstalling.
But it remembers my choice for allowing cookies regardless.

Only reason it is an issue is because I accepted all cookies on a website that now placed a chatbox below the video's, which now prevents me from putting the video in fullscreen.
I've reproduced the issue on my android phone on Chrome, and was able to fix it by not accepting all cookies so the chatbox is blocked. So I believe it's not related to the old issues with Android Webview.

I would like the following features to be added.

1. When playing media, if the screen is full, I want it to work with the arrow buttons on the keyboard, not the mouse.

2. I want to adjust the screen size of the webpage.

thank you

On fire tv lite (sheldon), i can't download .apk files.
I can download other extensions like: exe and zip.

I tried it on tv bro github.

is known problem introduced with system webview update. Currently no workaround except removing webview updates from system apps settings. I currently investigating option to porting TV Bro to GeckoView. This can help with many other issues with WebView.

>hellfish
Sorry, currently no, but this feature in future planns

This is also problem with WebView and its independent update process. Also seems Amazon making changes to WebView to prevent downloading. Some time ago I already implemented workaround for this, but seems there some another restriction applied in some other WebView update. This will also be fixed if the TV BRo switches to GecoView API.

    Hello @trueFedeX,

Thanks for your awesome work and browser.
I would like to suggest you to add two things:
    1. Is it possible to add "Clear All" button at History tab?
    2. Is it possible to add a "Home" button and set it to your prefer site in Main menu?
    Thanks.
    1. Not problem, will add it in next version (1.8.6 will out soon)
    2. There is is already Home button in bottom right :) I know it is a bit unexpected place for it. This is because I still dont finally decided how to arrange different sets of buttons - general (settings, downloads, history etc..), navigation related (home, back, forward, search etc...) and tab/host related (zoom, adblocking etc...). There should be some compromize in how fast user can access some frequently or rare used button and place where user expect to see this button. This is hard due to D-Pad-only navigation...
Also currently there no possibility to set custom home page URL (only ability to set it to selected search engine home) but it is planned in future versions.

    1. Thank you 👍
    2. Oh yeah there is the button down there but as you said the position of buttons may need some rearrange. Nice to know the "set URL for Homepage" it's on your plans.

Thanks a lot for your work, your Browser is must have for Android TVs!
    Keep it up👍

This app comes very close to being what I need.
I have a Mecool M8S Pro+ that I want to use to watch iPlayer on.
I have not had much luck using Kodi, and using any other way requires using a mouse and or keyboard.
So I tried your browser and I was very happy to see that I can now load iPlayer using the remote control!
But... when trying to view anything, there is just a black screen. Now this is something to do with how codecs are implemented in the system, I think.
I also tried different user agents, using the iPad user agent I can load the video, but it is too choppy to be watchable.
Using a user agent which simulates and older android device, iPlayer tries to redirect to a streaming app, BBC media player.
It does it through and address like intent://[appnamehere] but your browser does not seem to support this.

Basically what I am saying is, can you somehow adapt the browser so the engine is like Chrome and or can you add support for intent:// functionality to be able to open installed apps?
