Tweeter connection

I have a MTCD unit installed in Toyota corolla 2009. The car does not have built-in tweeters so I bought a pair of aftermarket tweeters and connected them in parallel directly to the front speaker connectors. They work well right now but I would like to know if there is any danger to the head unit with such a connection.
The tweeters are 4 ohms with built-in crossover. When I use a multi-meter to measure resistance it came out infinity. So it seems the built-in crossover (or capacitor) may be there to protect the system.
Please advise if there any issues with the connection.

There will be no problems there. You should have bought a component set with a midrange speaker and tweeter for better sound quality tough

Thanks for the confirmation.
You are right about midrange speakers and tweeters. I noticed slightly better sound with the new tweeter, but not by much. I did not plan to open door panels right now, so will leave the project for future.
