Here is a link to a Kernel Reverter/Flasher. http://db.tt/s6xToyVV it is also a cleaner to get rid of any leftover scripts. So you can use before swapping back to cm7 from other roms without get prop issues.

Just give it time to boot up, it will be quite long because of all the wipes. It will not wipe out anything you dont want it to. Just caches and such.

Been running since last night. Been off the charger since 8 this morning. Currently 2:30 still 85% battery. Also happy that cyanogen finally has T9 built into the dialer.

Only issue I'm having is the auto brightness. I'm having trouble getting it to brighten and dim and or get to the right level for the right external brightness. Anyone got tips on what to do or what settings they are using?

Hi,

These are the fastest ROMs I've ever run. Please keep them up and if there is anything I can do, please ask!

weird, the last two nightly's I've tried to flash, it gets stuck at the "galaxy s II" screen?
wiped dalvik
I've had problems too - updating CM7 whilst running siyah. It's always fine without siyah installed.

The very handy cm7 stock kernel reverter that RockRatt just posted can be use to work around this by making your overall update procedure as follows:

1) revert to CM7 stock kernel (using RockRatt zip)
2) update CM7
3) reinstall siyah

This is my number one complaint with cm7 as well. I am back on Shostock at the moment (for unrelated reasons) otherwise I would give you my auto brightness settings, but I found some usable ones just by googling for cm7 auto brightness settings. Also if you search the nightly thread a month or so ago someone posted some good initial ones there too. Good luck.

I personally love setting my status bar to a brightness slider. A cm7 only feature that if you slide left and right on the status bar, it adjusts the brightness. Turn off auto brightness in order to see the setting in CM7 settings.

its not cm7 only. You can also do this in jivy's ICScrewed rom. However it is pretty awesome.

i find this a nice feature as well, but some times im lazy and rather is adjust for me haha.

i found that the auto brightness works well in most situations, but it absolutely sucks in my office with fluorescent lights. if anyone has some ideas, let me know!

Hi RockRatt - does this something else than Jivy's kernel cleaner?
It cleans the kernel using jivys cleaner and then flashes the newest kernel for cm7 from this thread. So as someone else mentioned when you are going from siyah kernel baxk to cm7 or to flash a new nightly then you can flash this and get past the issue coming from siyah or a i9100 based rom. So it is mainly a kernel flasher use with cwm to flash a cm7 kernel. I made it for my own use and did write the thanks to Jivys kernel cleaner in it. I just see how many people have issues flashi ng from i9100 based roms or siyah so I thought i would post them when someone needs it.

These settings work for me.
Made them myself through lots of testing. Everything seemed dim to me so these settings require less light to make the screen brighter, and there are many levels to compensate light in different settings. I'm also using a pretty dark theme, so I can attest to this working well with darker themes.

I have light sensor filter enabled
Window lenght 2s
Reset threshold 400 lux
Sample interval 1s (which I think is default)
Use custom enabled
Screen dim level 20 (default)
Edit other levels (see pictures)
Allow light decrease enabled
Decrease hysteria 50% (default I think)

Main stuff that matters is the filter settings, 2 second window means it only takes 2 seconds for your phone to react to a change in light, reset threshold 400 lux means if something flashes quickly in front of your phone it wont throw off light adjustment.
