May I ask if you just used magisk manager to patch boot, cause when I do I get error on flash.

And how did you patch vbmeta?
I'm just curious since this patched boot isn't the latest and I wonder how to make this work with the latest boot.img from September patch update.

You can't just install patched boot.img like that. It will not be missed by the verification system. That's why I used vbmeta and vbmeta_patch which are included in the instructions.
You can patched up any boot.img yourself and try to install it by following the instructions. But I can't guarantee how this will work on a working system. You have to try it.

Yes I understand that both vbmeta files in some way are patched and I did flash the first one before trying to flash my patched boot from Saptember patch. At that point it failed with the error.
I then used your boot.img and everything went well.
With root I then tried to get Viper4Android working, and after a reboot I was once again at the "no bootable slots screen" for some reason.
I guess something just went wrong the first time,.
Now when I tried again with your vbmeta and then my patched boot from September, it did work.

Edit: This time I had no problem geting V4A working so someting went wrong first time even though I got it reset and rooted.

This custom recovery I compiled for 4pda.ru and ilia3367 , which helped me a lot while testing and debugging this TWRP. So thank him a lot because without his help, TWRP would not exist. If you find any bugs in this recovery please report them to me - I will try to fix them.

I have a One Action, and I'm following the guide.
First step flashing the stock firmware with the vbmeta that you posted was succesfully.
After that tried fastboot boot Twrp...img the image was send succesfully but the phone stuck at android one logo, not booting twrp (it restarted for the second time and stay stuck)
What could I do?

EDIT 1: SOLUTION TO BOOT TWRP, REBOOT TO FASTBOOT AND TYPE fastboot -w, and boot twrp now

Now next step

EDIT 2: Root working on Motorola One ACTION!!!!!

I'm rooted without twrp for now and I've had some weird behaviour on reboot a few times. One time fp sensor didn't work, and one time my substratum theme didn't load so I had to apply it myself.
I've also had two random reboots..

I didn't try the first one so I don't know if it was working there, but this new TWRP has broken ADB.
Once I was booted to twrp, my only option to get anything flashed was usb otg, bcs sideload didn't work.

Ok, that's bad. No adb in recovery :/
Do you have any link to kane twrp sources?
Maybe someone else may be able to fix it

That's too bad but it's still progress. If I were you I'd ask the admins to move the thread to the development area, might get some attention that way.
