This is really exciting progress! I have a OnePlus 7pro running Android 10, and a OnePlus 8pro running Android 11. I am satisfied to run Oxygen rather than custom ROMs/kernels. TWRP is in my experience the least error-prone way to add Magisk. I also appreciate the backup/restore capabilies in case something goes foul. Payload dumper is good however Magisk Manager is not always reliable. Thanks developers!

Correct if the phone is on android 11
(if you want your new phone to boot)

There are guides on saving Magisk when taking OTAs. I'm currently rooted on A11 with my Netflix & GPay intact.

Yes as stated, fastbooting this version on 11 put me in crashdump. Had to hold vol up, down, and power. Then it took holding all 3 again to.turn back on after a good 30 seconds!
