I should have already wrote the instruction for others, I couldn't find the time. Here are all the steps from stock:

Unlock bootloader.
Flash TWRP from fastboot screen and reboot to recovery.
Dont swipe to allow modification on first prompt. Keep read only.
Take twrp backup of system, boot, recovery, efs and anything else you want and copy it to your computer to be safe.
Flash magisk (stable preferred) but dont reboot.
Run the following echo commands while in twrp > Advanced > Terminal:

Reboot to system.

Just a few questions: "Don't swipe to allow modification on first prompt"... It means you did so later or simply didn't? Which TWRP version you flashed? Also, haven't wiped data? And... which OS you're running?

Motorola website says " your devices doesn't qualify for unlocking bootloader "

Can anyone help plz?

Well, at this point probably you already figured this out, so just for the record, I feel the need to tell you this happened to me once (with my previous Moto G4 Plus) 'only' because I failed to properly enter the unlock code string by means of accidentally deleting at least one of the code numbers (or letters) along with '(bootloader)' and spaces. Also, there's the possibility that device is actually not unlockable, but as far as I know this only happens with Verizon devices. In such case... there's no workaround that I know other than being sarcastic, which I won't be now.

Thank you for taking the time now!

That looks very clean compared to what I went through. I found these instructions on reddit.

Should this link ever die, here is the digest:
Flash stock image
Backup system and boot partitions
Restore these backups (!)
Flash Magisk
Reboot

Strangely enough, that worked just as well for me…
I wouldn't recommend that to anyone, though, since it seems like a giant hack and telling Magisk directly what to do makes a lot more sense and is also a lot less time-consuming.

Just a couple of questions: Flash stock image? You actually mean flash stock image over stock image, or you mean flash TWRP recovery, then backup system and boot partitions? Also, no data wipe involved in the process?

Till now there's no flashable stock ROM available but fastboot method is easy though.

Yep, I know, thanks; that's why I asked @sirkuttin from where he grabbed that "flashable stock ROM" he mentioned somewhere else in this thread. Anyway, surprising is, you actually answered me! There's an uncomfortable lack of interest about doing so in this thread...

Mhhh... how it seems like a giant hack? It doesn't even involve flashing alternate stuff nor command imputs, thus it's clearly unintrusive... Actually, it looks totally otherwise to me and, as you claim, "that worked just as well". Just have to point out that, if flashing TWRP for the first time ever, you still have to FORMAT DATA right after TWRP install; then, proceed with the backup stuff (I would perform a full NANDROID backup instead, you know why) and so on. It's also recommended to flash this one here (it's updated to 3.2.3-0):

https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-play/development/twrp-3-2-0-0-moto-z2-play-albus-t3715660

... According to OP, it's tested up to 8.0, August 1, security patch.

TWRP 3.2.1_r12 Moto Z2 Play (albus)

https%3A%2F%2Ftwrp.me%2Fimages%2Fbackupname.png

TWRP changelog : Here

Working/Bugs : Need to press power button two times for touch to work

Please do read the installation guide note !

IMPORTANT NOTE :
1. At first boot twrp will ask for "Swipe to allow modifications for /system" and if you choose to allow it system partition will get modified. So if you choose to reboot back to OS without performing anything in twrp, the OS won't boot (as verity check is enabled in stock OS/kernel) . To avoid this you have to flash either SuperSU or flash any of the verity disabler zips there in xda

2. Encryption is enabled by default

3. If in case decryption doesn't go fine, twrp will popup a dialog box asking for password and that means decryption went wrong and you would need to wipe data once via twrp wipe options and reboot back to twrp for functioning of /data

Installation Guide :
1. Make sure you have unlocked bootloader
2. Reboot to bootloader
3. fastboot flash recovery twrp-xxxx.img (if you want permanent flash) or
fastboot boot twrp-xxxx.img (if you want temporary boot)

Here's a link to 3.2.2 64-bit

Hey guys,

I had trouble finding a 64-bit TWRP too, and eventually found a link to 3.2.2 64-bit in this post. It seems to have worked for my Moto Z2 Play XT1710-01. Hope this helps!
