TWRP backup question?

Hi guys I have an question?
Usually while installing new custom roms it is recommended we do a factory reset. So my question if I just backup only the data using TWRP and later on restore the data will if effect the new rom? Cause it's ` huge hassle to download all the apps over again?

will do that later also..think there shouldn't be a problem..
