It's a total WIP right now. I have no manifests atm except what I have on the TeamWin organization and using aosp10. Also I have a couple of patches on gerrit.twrp.me for review. I can post my personal manifest later.

I am not affiliated with the minimal repositories and am not using them. You will have to talk to their members for status updates.

Thank your hard work with TWRP @bigbiff.
I'm trying to build the TWRP for pixel4a refer to your github repository.
I use aosp10 manifest and TeamWin's android_bootable_recovery repository.
I don't know how to make TWRP for pixel device.
It doesn't have recovery partition, so make bootimage OK?

Thanks yeah I read that post before I posted my question I was just hoping we would be able to use the unicorn blood kernel but I guess they will have to give it lzma support first before that is possible. Thanks for the response
It's already built into Unicornblood. It'll be included on our next and final Q official build this weekend.

We just got minimal omni10 working yesterday. You can download that now and use my device tree for building.

I haven't pushed out any new builds since it was more of an environment compilation update then feature work.

So like an idiot I updated from 10 to 11 just doing my normal security patch update. And low and behold not only am I not rooted (which is fine, not supposed to be) but now when I flash the magic_patched boot image in fastboot it flashes fine but after reboot it just bootloops. Now right before all this took place I did install twrp test 8 and replaced stock recovery (not sure if this is the culprit) but I'm stuck with stock no root and I really don't wanna have to factory reset and wipe my phone if I don't have to. But I've gotta be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I assume you patched the 11 boot.img? I think you need to be on the canary build of magisk manager.

You assume correct sir. I originally did with the canary first and that didn't work then I tried with the stable and that didn't work too. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to have to factory reset just to be able to root again. :(

In the exact same position as you. I have tried just about everything but can't get root on my pixel 4 xl. I did the ota to 11. I thought it would just download it so I would have time to magisk patch before it rebooted and keep root but it just did it on its own when I woke up. I have tried using the canary, either installing to both slots or just bootign the patched magisk file. I tried reinstalling all of 11 with no wipe and tried booting and resinstalling again. Some people said I think I needed to twrp which was weird because we haven't had twrp support for a long time (though now I see it is being added for pixel 4xl, thanks for this) I tried this on 11 though and it was unable to decrypt. Only thing I have tried is a wipe which I just may have to do. Did you wipe and did it fix your issue?

Nope, that's the only thing I haven't tried yet! But it's starting to seem that may be the only solution! I'll report back if that's the road I have to take but I'm certain it will fix it. At this point I'd rather downgrade back to ten but that's not working for me either. I even noticed that it's repartitioning some of the partition sizes when downgrading and upgrading which is odd to me. It should be able to downgrade right? Correct me if I'm mistaken.

a big part of the problem that I have been seeing people having because I'm actually on Android 11 stable rooted with magisk Canary The problem I think that's happening is when you patch the boot image if you'll notice it's being corrupted it's not coming out the right size that it's supposed to be which is like 34.13 mb so I actually had to use someone else's patched boot image because when I would patch the boot image it kept coming out corrupted or too small of a file. I tried to upload the patched magisk file is used here but it's too large

Can you possibly upload and link it to a drive account or something?

I tried the beta out a while back and to downgrade to 10 I did have to wipe. Tried it first without wiping and it wouldn't boot. Not sure if it is the same for the final release but since you are having problems I think it might be the case.

Excellent, thanks for posting it. I'll try it in a bit here. It's just slightly smaller than the one I created myself so hopefully that is enough of a difference to fix it haha. Either way appreciate the support!

[RECOVERY] TWRP 3.5.0_10-0 - TeamWin Recovery Project [/B]

    Introduction:

Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Key Features:

Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
    Onscreen keyboard
    Easy selection of internal/external storage

In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.

We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

If you have made your own TWRP build for an unsupported device, please let us know. We might add your build to the list of unofficial builds. Bear in mind that we are working hard to add more devices and we may add your device to our official build list later.

    Old info:

Hello, this is a test build for coral users (will work on crosshatch/blueline later).

So far I have decryption working, touch, adb and backup and restore seems to work. Super partition volumes can be mounted, and the super partition can be backed up.

TWRP seems to be pretty stable now as of test 5. Missing features include adb sideload and repacking recovery which I will be working on in the upcoming months. Android 11 will be supported when stable APIs have been release and we have time to update to that release.

    June FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test1-coral.img
    July FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test4-coral.img
    July FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test5-coral.img
    - fix restoring of persist partition
    - fix restoring of super partition
    July FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test6-coral.img
    - allow repacking of TWRP from boot.img
    - magisk not working currently on repacked image
    August FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test7-coral.img
    August FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test8-coral.img
    - fix repacking magisk with TWRP

well.if you have a zip file would be even better

Repacking is still being worked on. Fastboot only is workable. I have mentioned this in the thread.
For people who want to know, I am working on ramdisk issues I am having before repacking.

Please don't leave passive aggressive comments in the future.

Hello, I released a new test image:

    July FW Date https://build.twrp.me/test/coral/twrp-3.4.0-0-test5-coral.img
    - fix restoring of persist partition
    - fix restoring of super partition
    29
So is there a way to restore said backed up super partition?
Btw thanks for the work you've put in so far, it's much appreciated.

There has been a fix posted to our gerrit and merged. I am working on a ramdisk issue and will put a new test build that allows restore of super.
    21
Hello, I was able to get repacking working, however you need to use a kernel with LZMA ramdisk support. I am using Kirisakura-FLORAL_5.2.2.zip for testing.

Also I am now using @Freak07 FLORAL kernel as a base for the fastboot image in order to support the newer DTBO image from R.

Please see the download in the FP.

You can repack TWRP into the boot ramdisk with this version, and reboot to recovery is working. I need to test magisk next.
