TWRP not opening up, system just restarts

I been messing around with my Kindle 8.9 and I was able to root it no problem. I installed the 2nd bootloader not problem( i see the blue kindle fire logo). I even flashed the TWRP; however, I can not get TWRP to open up. I keep restarting my device and I immediately press the volume up button and it flashes to the blue logo but it just stays there for a long while and restarts again. If I don't press the volume up button again for it to loop back to what I just explained then the Amazon stock OS eventually loads up. I tried to search for somebody not being able to open up/load up/boot up TWRP/recovery and had no luck so sorry if this is a duplicate.

but not matter what I can't open up TWRP

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
