does this mean i don't need Safestrap Recovery?
Yup, fails here also.Just tried flash with safe strap but files fail to install.
Does not specify if this is for retail or Dev only.
I'd assume you'd need the developer edition since our boots are locked.Just tried flash with safe strap but files fail to install.

I'd suggest that you add the statement to the OP, that this is only for DE. Incompatible with Retail version/SafeStrap.
The title says it but I'll add it to the post.I'd suggest that you add the statement to the OP, that this is only for DE. Incompatible with Retail version/SafeStrap.
Also, for other DE users, I suspect this is only compatible with 4.4 bootloader.
Thanks. Every time a new recovery for our DE shows up in a mainstream thread, several users try to flash it over Safestrap. You can't be too careful around here. The title says it but I'll add it to the post.
You are the only one (that I know of) on this forum with a 4.4 bootloader DE.Has anyone tested it yet. I haven't had a chance to because I've been busy after sending bigbiff my Dev edition stock recovery.
Oh okay I guess it's just me and @helix139 LOL. I'll test it soon hopefully. You are the only one (that I know of) on this forum with a 4.4 bootloader DE.
When the Note 3 DE was released in November, 2013 the only method available to root was to first flash TWRP, then flash SuperSU.zip. We all did this using the TMO version of TWRP recovery. So no one was on this forum was able to download a copy of the stock recovery. The request has been made many times, and it's (apparently) too late for all of us. But thanks for the suggestion.PS - @cam30era send your stock recovery to bigbiff if you have it backed up to somewhere. So you can get in on the fun with the split builds.
Can't you flash the files I have to update your bootloader? I got them all backed up after I rooted mine. Nope. Flashing any bootloader on a DE device, except the one it was delivered with, is TABOO. End result will be retail device with an unlockable bootloader. There were several failed attempts early on. Don't, under any circumstances, ever touch the bootloader on your DE.Can't you flash the files I have to update your bootloader? Is there a way to port the recovery bigbiff did for me and helix?Nope. Flashing any bootloader on a DE device, except the one it was delivered with, is TABOO. I'm not a dev, but I have never heard of that. Us 4.3 bootloader DE users will have to continue to live with either philz (hltevzw version), or TWRP (TMO version). Is there a way to port the recovery bigbiff did for me and helix?
At least you're still in the crack flashing game though. Wish there was a way for me to help as I feel a duty to my fellow Dev edition ownersI'm not a dev, but I have never heard of that. FYI: bigbiff has opened a new thread in Original Android Development. At least you're still in the crack flashing game though. Wish there was a way for me to help as I feel a duty to my fellow Dev edition owners![]()
Stupid question probably, but even if that bootloader is from another DE device?Nope. Flashing any bootloader on a DE device, except the one it was delivered with, is TABOO. Not a stupid question at all. Apparently, DE bootloaders are digitally signed, and flashing anything other than the bootloader that the device shipped with will result in a locked (and unlockable) bootloader. Even Samsung can't/won't update our DE bootloaders.Stupid question probably, but even if that bootloader is from another DE device?
And BTW this TWRP flashed fine and seems to be working well on my 4.4 DE Note 3 running Alliance, just to report
