@Maskman_101 : this are only links to the firmware of the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. What i need is either a TWRP Recovery or a Orange Fox Recovery. And i fear, that until now there is none of this... :(

There is a twrp uploaded by xiaomi.eu. Click TWRP under installation here https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-12-1-12-2-12-5-stable-release.56191/ then select lisa in the list. It was uploaded today.

I'm not sure that this is the resource on which this loader is. From personal experience I can say that I tried it on my phone. Tried PitchBlack.img But it does not detect a micro sd card, and it's not about formatting the partition. On the official website https://twrp.me/ not recovery for Lisa. The one I posted works exactly.

About the twrp on lisa...

Downloaded the twrp from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=324804 and it's the same as WizardPhoenix. Now, my lisa is global and unlocked. Other than that so far nothing additional (such as twrp, yet), except of course the ADB enablement. To install twrp to the bootloader, I followed the instructions from https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomimi11lite5g.html which is from renoir (since they don't have any page ready about lisa). Of course, things could be different for lisa installation-wise.

I'm at the point after the instructions saying "fastboot boot twrp.img". I did it, it boots twrp ok from the file, I go to "Advanced > Flash Current TWRP" but it finishes with an error. I don't want to try the alternative way, since the instructions are for renoir. I suspect that the error is due to perhaps lisa has two slots (I could be wrong tho).

So any instructions to properly install twrp 3.6 to lisa on a freshly unlocked Xiaomi mi 11 5g NE?

Tried on my Lisa, TWRP does not read Internal memory (although it asked for unlock pin)

There is a SHRP thread here on XDA, SHRP recovery properly supports Internal memory and USB - highly recommend to use that SHRP for Lisa.
In the SHRP thread's OP post #1 there is a TG channel link, everybody can directly ask SHRP developer there

On mine, it seemed to read the internal memory (when in boot into TWRP, it can see everything). It just couldn't install itself. I ended up installing the custom xiaomi.eu ROM (ditching the original stock Global rom) but still I'm waiting to see what to do about TWRP.

Which version of Xiaomi.eu for Lisa?

AFAIK, they have Stable 12.5.8 or so, as Fastboot ROM (to be flashed through Fastboot)

My device is not reading any recovery. I'm on EU 22.3.3 version.

Tried both SHRP and Lineage Recovery but it keep getting stuck on MIUI logo, not booting into recovery. Then to boot into system again I have to flash EU fastboot ROM.

No custom Recovery supports A12 yet. That's the reason your Xiaomi.eu is Fastboot ROM, not TWRP

Wait...

Regarding custom recoveries from your Android File Host link

Actually, that repo (custom recoveries for various Xiaomi phones, Lisa is just one of them) is maintained by one Xiaomi.eu user and you can find his thread with user experiences on the Xiaomi.eu forum

    ---

No custum recovery supports A12 (MIUI 13) - ie, they don't support encryption to work with Data and Internal memory

Hence no use if you upgraded Lisa to MIUI 13/A12

    ---

If you are still on MIUI 12.5/A11 (I do, stock EEA MIUI 12.5.8):

    twrp-3.6.0_11-0-lisa:
It says that it successfully decrypted for user 0 but actually it doesn't read Internal memory.
Also, it doesn't work with USB OTG

    No use

    SHRP_v3.1_stable-Unofficial_lisa:
Scroll back in this thread to find more info about that SHRP.
Actually, find here on XDA a thread by developer who develops that SHRP for Lisa (and in his OP post a link to his TG channel for direct communication with him)

His latest version (from XDA and TG channel, not 'your' old version - 'your' version is actually his initial SHRP release from the end of last year, I compared the checksums) properly supports Internal memory, USB OTG and external SD card (when you put Micro SD card to the hybrid SIM slot 2)

I happily use that SHRP for three months👍

    OrangeFox-R11.1_0-Unofficial-lisa:
I tested yesterday, it also works correctly with Internal memory and USB OTG (I don't have Micro SD anymore to test)

Hence both OrangeFox and SHRP work fine with MIUI 12.5/A11, use the one you like/prefer more

    ---

No comments on custom ROMs since I stay on (rooted, debloated) MIUI

    PS to my previous answer

You should test yourself the custom recoveries, with your stock or custom ROM you use

You can test with no risk of bricking as below:

    Eg, Orange Fox:

Unzip and find inside the img file.
    From Fastboot use:
    fastboot boot <img-file-name img>

That way phone will boot ONLY ONCE/temporarily to your recovery, ie, Recovery won't be permanently flashed

If you are not satisfied, just reboot and that custom recovery is gone

If the recovery works for you (mainly, does it correctly decrypt for user 0 that you can use Internal memory, alternatively test USB OTG), then you can flash it permanently:

From inside the Orange Fox recovery, find Advanced, More, "Flash this Orange Fox"

Use that to permanently flash the recovery (OF)

    ----

To be understood (if not familiar with, google for more info)

    1) Lisa does not have separated Recovery partition. Recovery is integrated to Boot partition as Ramdisk Recovery

Therefore, you cannot use - no Recovery partition:
    fastboot flash recovery < img-file-name img>

And you should not use - it will brick your Boot partition:
    fastboot flash boot < img-file-name img>

    2) Lisa is A/B device. It has two slots for two firmwares, to support seamless OTA (while running stock firmware in one slot, it upgrades OTA to the other slot and you only short reboot to boot into the OTA upgraded firmware)

The mechanism applies to the stock firmware and stock OTA

Therefore, it has two Boot partitions (slot A and slot B).
But you don't need to bother with, the above installation mechanism for custom recovery will apply only to the currently active slot

    Hi all,

Thanks for sharing lots of info. Please, are there any updates on a good/reliable/official custom recovery for the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE?

My Pocophone is about to die, and I can't migrate to my new (5G NE) phone without root :(

I honestly was just looking for root (don't actually need TWRP or another recovery), but after a few years without studying the new processes I thought doing it through a custom recovery would be easier... (plus, most of the guides include a custom recovery).

Any clues, please? (again, I just need root - will keep the stock rom)

    Many thanks in advance,
    Fabricio
To install Magisk you need to extract boot img, patch the img through Magisk app and flash the patched img through fastboot

That is RECOMMENDED method for installing Magisk - instead of ancient 'guides' please read the OFFICIAL Magisk documentation on GitHub

Nevertheless, you can still install Magisk through custom recovery, but you need one that is compatible for your device and ROM

For Lisa, MIUI 13 / A 12, look for the other thread here, Orange Fox (unofficial) recovery. OF is good recovery and it works - ie, it properly supports Storage encryption on MIUI 13 / A 12.
And carefully read instructions how to install - installation of custom recoveries is no more that simple as in the old times - if you fastboot flash ... you will brick your device

But again. To install Magisk you don't need custom recovery. Custom recovery breaks OTA (for the stock ROM). And there are better options for backup (eg Swift Backup root app) - nandroid restore may brick the device or you loose DRM L1, or so

    ---

Personally, I have switched (for my Lisa - aka Mi 11 Lite 5G NE) from stock to Xiaomi eu (in short, it is kind of debloated MIUI)

Since it's not stock, it requires custom recovery to install. And yes, I use the mentioned Orange Fox

In fact, Xiaomi.eu requires custom recovery as well for upgrades (kind of 'OTA' upgrades), hence they pack that same Orange Fox into their Xiaomi.eu, Stable and Weekly ROM installations

Ie, it also proves that the mentioned OF is good for Lisa, for MIUI 13/A 12

And frankly, I've tried few other custom recoveries for Lisa, A12, but something did not work or did not work as smooth as with the mentioned OF

And of course I do root (stock and now Xiaomi.eu), but although I could do that through OF, I prefer what is the official way by patching and flashing

In fact, once you first time install Magisk, you can later update Magisk much easier - again through the Magisk app, you take Install, choose Direct method, it will update Magisk and reboot to take in effect - all without the need for custom recovery or fastboot

    ---

And some 'theoretical' insights. Lisa is A/B device, with Recovery integrated into the Boot partition, and of course (as other devices launched with A11 or A12) read-only SAR

Read-only SAR means that System (+ Vendor, Product ..) is read-only on the file system level. Even with the root you cannot write / make changes to the system partitions - but Magisk provides the so-called systemless rooting where it mounts the required changes over System in boot time. That's the way all modern Magisk modules work (incl. eg Systemless hosts for AdAway)
    Hence no practical limitations here

Recovery is integrated into the Boot partition. Hence no Recovery partition. Therefore, a more complicated installation for custom recoveries - but follow the guides (not ancient ones but eg the guide in that OF thread here)

And although Recovery is integrated into the Boot, it is still possible to have both the custom recovery (like that OF) and Magisk. They both install to the same Boot partition.
And from the practical point of view - no problem, normal boot boots to the rooted MIUI, boot with Vol+ boots to OF (as usual)

A/B means that device comes with two slots A and B. Ie, the whole SAR (System partitions) and Boot is duplicated. Eg, there is boot_a, boot_b, system_a, system_b, etc (but of course data partition is single)

A/B makes OTA upgrades (for stock ROM) more seamless for the user - you can Google about how it works

But again, no problem with all that to install Magisk, OF, custom ROMs - one just needs to read, learn and stay up-to-date👍
