Bug report :

While in recovery, phone can't write to SD card nor OTG flash drive (can't backup to them, can't move files or rename them), it can only read them.

Looking forward for the new update, hopefully it will be a stable release
The bug is fixed with the version 3.6.0, now I can backup to my external SD Card directly.
Great work OP!

Oh sad so If I need a nandroid backup I would flash twrp.img do the backup and then flash original boot.img again ?
It is enough to flash the boot.img file of the Stock ROM, but TWRP will be deleted. My advice to you is to patch boot.img from Magisk and use it with Root. I did so. Ubuntu vs Chroot I use.

I installed TWRP 3.6.0 via Magisk module but I don't know how to open it. AVB is turned off and there is Root with Magisk.

I messed with system apps, which led to the phone entering bootloop. I had to restore it, thankfully I have made a backup. however, there was an update (12.5.15.0_Global). So I figured I would download the complete Fastboot ROM and flash it, than flash the newest version of TWRP and restore data.
The problems I faced :

- I could not boot to system, phone keeps booting to TWRP
- I could not recover data partition, I instantly encounter this error :

extracttarfork() process ended with error=255

I downgraded to 3.5.2 beta, phone booted normally and was able to restore the data with no errors in TWRP (but still gives a bootloop, I guess newer phones are more secure where we can't just inject data in data partition and expect it to work seemlessly)

As there will eventually be other system updates, I decided to give up on this right now and use the phone without root untill it gets its final update from xiaomi, so that the root will stay forever.

    @miravision I think we should also add credits to people like @J6idot , @mastersenpai05 and Myst33d who did a great job helping building twrp.

    Hello. As one of the developpers of this TWRP DT, I am not really OK with that.

    Firstly, you linked the wrong device tree Real link here

    Also, I didn't published this on XDA because this TWRP is still in BETA. And it contains major bugs, like flashing dynamic partitions in fastbootd. Even if bugs will me fixed, I was planning to wait a release candidate before publishing the release here (this will require even more testing, if people want to help us testing, this will be even better).

    So please, can you delete this or add clear warnings about the beta state?

    Regards, Woomy

    (If you need instructions on how to flash, please do not flash this with fastboot method)

    Nice, it's beta 2
    to apply encrypt patch, you must decrypt first.
    So
    - you have to disable security password/fingerprint in your parameter first.
    - then reboot in recovery
    - format data
    - reboot again to recovery and apply patch.
    2
    test (beta 2) after disabling security (fingerprint and pin)

    - flashing magisk.zip -> ok
    - backup -> ok
    - restore -> ok
    - MTP internal SD -> ok
    - MTP external SD -> nok, file manager stuck on it (win10 or linux mint)
