I stopped using SuperSu some time ago. I flashed Magisk with no problem and I am rooted. Qualcomm version unlocked on Sprint network.
If I flash TWRP and magisk and enable the Moto encryption will I still be able to flash the latest magisk or at least update to the newest magisk?

Sorry about the double post. My XDA app did not update to show me my post even though I pressed update/refresh. I am using the latest version of the XDA labs app not found on the Google play store.

Also has anyone with the Qualcomm version received an update yet I have not received a single update yet. My security patches are still in June.

@soaringowl2145 The Moto E4 Plus is a fairly new phone for me, so I might be off-base, but my assumption has been that as soon as I replaced the recovery with TWRP, I lost the ability to update via OTA. Which doesn't concern me since:
a) As you pointed out, we are already running the latest June update.
b) I can always download the latest firmware from https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto E4 Plus/Stock/ and flash it myself.
c) Most importantly I will switch over to a custom ROM once there is a stable build that supports my carrier.
In the meantime being rooted allows me to customize my phone (running Xposed and several other mods) as I want.

Download it and report back, are you using the unlocked version with sprint? Not sure if this update will fix the block apps on the sprint network.

Help Needed

TWRP is unavailable as the forum download is down and my daily driver phone is lying non-functional since today morning. Can anyone please post the file online on a third party website? Help much appreciated.

It should still work, even getting that message. I get the same message when flashing it , but it still gets flashed to the device and works fine. I don't believe there are any other twrp builds for Owens, so unless you have Nicklaus (the mediatek variant) this recovery should work.

So apparently with the newest OTA update the rom will automatically reinstall the stock recovery and take out twrp so you will have to manually install TWRP each time it's needed if you run the stock rom.

You need to reboot twrp once (select option to reboot recovery) after flashing and booting to it the first time. That's nothing new. It changes a file in /system recovery-from-boot.p to recovery-from-boot.bak This is what reinstalls the stock recovery. You can also do it manually with twrp file manager to make sure it gets done.

I need help. So I unlocked my bootloader. Then I got the twrp from this thread and flash it using fastboot commands. After i booted upTWRP I* went to flash magisk.zip from the magisk thread. Then I rebooted to start my normal boot up. This is where everything goes wrong, my phone goes into a boot loop and gets stuck on the blue Moto logo screen. Only way I can fix it is if I restore it from the back up I made in TWRP. Once I restore it I must reboot my system to boot in fastboot mode then from there select the start option. If I don't do this then my phone will again go into a boot loop and I must restore again. Can anyone help? I'm trying to root my phone but this boot loop is killing me.
