how to use nvflash to recover/flash
Hi, I'm hoping you might be able to assist me. I've been scouring the internet for hours and seem to only find bits and pieces and haven't been able to put together a complete picture or step-by-step instructions. I have a DS7 stock Honeycomb 3.2, not rooted.
Problem:
- DS7 was booting up fine but no longer able to get into stock (or CWM) recovery or fastboot. I wasn't having any problems the last few days but all of a sudden today it seemed out of the blue to not longer work. At this point still booted up okay into OS.
- so I thought I'd perform a factory reset, and the only way available to me was through the privacy settings. Rebooted and then hung at the Dell logo - thought I'm bricked :crying:
- confirmed I am still able to connect via APX - is there hope? :fingers-crossed:
- I came across the video for ICS-B4 and using TWRP and wondered if I can somehow restore my stock recovery, install TWRP and then ICS-B4 using nvflash, or some combination of.
My most immediate problem is I have all the files as per the post installed on my computer, but since I can't fastboot to perform the first step, install TWRP, I wondered if I could do it using nvflash but I haven't been able to find any instructions so don't know if it's even possible.
I also have the stock recovery and pkg so would be happy to just get back to stock too. But again, I don't know how to get recovery on to my DS through nvflash.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much....
Jacqueline
p.s. examples of where some of my confusion lies ar the instructions say to launch a batch file within the nvflash dir and none of the files that came down in my download contain any batch files, when I run 'nvflash --sync' it just returns the help section :rolleyes - needless to say I'm confused and I've always thought myself not too bad navigating around command lines, OSs and the sort, having flashed and rooted devices before. This DS7 has become my nemisis.
