Updates

For those who don't have pc to flash recovery via odin and if they not sure if new one will work must have installed android terminal.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...al.androidterm

To back up current recovery type in terminal next:
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/recovery.img
and check is your recovery on your internal storage.
To flash it back type next:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
No reboot required.

I have been doing some research about important backup of samsung files so I found that backup of EFS is very important because it's folder contains
Phone-specific information such as the IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. If this thing not handled properly, can turn your device completely useless as it will no longer be recognized by your carrier.
Problem is, flashing custom ROMs sometime can corrupt contains within EFS folder. That’s why backing up EFS folder is very important if you love to flash new ROM.
So I will include that as backup option.

Also same thing with modem looking at twrp github for samsung devices so I will add that to. And my opinion maybe not wise but I think that recovery also need to be included in backup.

That's my 5 cents :)

Anyone to back me up or to add 5 cents more :D

First of all.. Thanks for your hard work on our SGC2 recovery!
I hope with this, SGC2 has it's own forum as soon as possible

Btw. I confirmed this working for samsung galaxy core 2 duos (G355H) as well
everything looks fine.. touch screen working, but I haven't touched any feature aside from reboot to system which was working :D:D:p
but i believe everything should be working fine
you should change the thread name as your recovery support G355H too :good:

    something about cm11 and cm12

Cm 12 is out of question for now. Cm 11 could be build but only from prebuild kernel because Samsung open source kernel is in mess. I have tried to build stock kernel using several method but it won't boot at all. I have made some progress with cm11 but nothing much. Still can't boot properly but it can be done. Main problem are proprietary files. Finding them take a lot of time seating in front of PC and I have not that much free time.

I don't work this for donation or earning "thanks" points. "Donate to me" is a prank. Click it and you can see. I do this because I want to improve our device so as few folks here.

But as I have mentioned before we need team of people who have some experience with android development to share their knowledge in order to make something. I open channel for core 2 and its in my signature but for a while I was only one on it so I give up.
Maybe some one need to open topic g355h cm11 Dev only where we can talk what we can do.
One man can't do anything alone but more than one can make a difference. As you can see on my github I contribute to some devices that I have never seen before. So to end this writing cose my fingers will fall of, are we going to do something or not?

BTW. Who the frack rate this topic as terrible?
    Who cares :)
