I did do that and made a backup. But once I've booted the phone, if I try to go back into twrp it must boot's stock recovery
2. Flashing TWRP
Turn the phone off. Then boot it into fastboot mode by holding volume up + power.
Rename the recovery file that you downloaded above to recovery.img. *Make sure that you rename it to recovery.img NOT recovery.img.img* ,Make sure that this file is placed on the desktop.
Open a new command prompt on desktop and run the following commands:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once the flash has completed, Don't use the "Fastboot Reboot" Command Instead Unplug Your phone then Manually boot it into recovery by keeping Power + Volume Down button pressed.
In TWRP, select Reboot and then select System. Now your phone will boot into System and you have cleared Steps 2/3

Hey everyone. Would like to root my phone, was wondering if installing twrp will do it or will I have to flash a zip with SU binaries after installing the recovery?
Oh and if I install this recovery through the TWRP Manager app will it wipe all my data?
Sorry for the noobie questions :D

Oh just realised that can't install through the app cause don't have root.
So if I install by flashboot will I lose all my data.
I read that I lose my data when I unlock my bootloader, is that right?

Installing TWRP alone won't root your phone. You can flash the SuperSU Zip from TWRP to root.

Flashing through TWRP Manager won't wipe your data but TWRP Manager itself requires root.

You can flash the recovery from fastboot.

1.Rename the recovery to recovery.img and copy it to the fastboot folder in PC.
2.Reboot the phone to fastboot mode.
3.Use the command below to flash the recovery :)

Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Awesome. Thanks a lot :)
Just one question. Do you know if unlocking the bootloader will wipe my data?
I just wanted to know if I should backup everything. I should backup anyway when flashing but just wanted to know.

Yes.Unlocking bootloader will wipe your data and Internal Storage. So better backup all your data before proceeding.

Sorry for question.
In 3.0.2.0 seems that there's a bug about mount usb/otg when in recovery.
In 3.0.2.1 is this bug fixed?
I'm using unofficial only because I need usb/otg in recovery.
Thx and sorry again

I updated to 3.0.2.1 because the prior version wouldn't recognise OTG. Now on the new version, all my backups hang at around the 93% mark.

Anyone else have that issue? It happens on internal storage as well as any OTG-connected storage. Very annoying.

I just restore old OOS322 backup (made with twrp 3020) from CM13 with twrp 3021 and no problem [emoji6]

My phone is doing the exact same thing. Very Frustrating!!! It will boot into TWRP once. No matter what, it will only boot into the stock recovery after that.

I have tried every version of TWRP in this forum. Tried rebooting directly into TWRP after installing it. No Success. Every time I get only the boot screen with choices. When I select Recovery, I get only a blank screen or the stock recovery.

I never had this problem on either of my OnePlus Ones so I am totally at a loss on how to remedy this.

Any help would be thoroughly appreciated, believe me.
