Hi guys,
I'm new to modding android devices, I'm hoping to get custom ROM on to my HTC U11 Life but i failed to boot into twrp.
I tried some of the posted images but not one was booting correctly.

Is a final release out or are you guys still trying (I hope).

Let me know what I can test and what date you need.

Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a working TWRP. There were some efforts with @twinnfamous who doesn't own the device and donated a lot of his time for developing a TWRP for our device.
Development is stuck at a point where it is still not working. @twinnfamous is not active anymore for reasons I don't know so there is no active development of TWRP for our device at the moment.

But you can try any GSI ROM without TWRP.

You can have a look at https://xdaforums.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/gsi-lineageos-17-0-gsi-archs-t4004673.
This is a lineage OS GSI (Generic System Image) without Google stuff I think. A quick howto on installing GSI ROMs is located here https://www.xda-developers.com/flash-generic-system-image-project-treble-device/.

BUT:
I tried it several times but there are several bugs (force closes etc) for our device which need to be reported (logs and logs and logs) to the maintainer to fix them. It is not working out of the box. I gave up because restoring a backed up system.img of our device is not trivial (that's what I experienced). I never restored a system.img in a way my device booted afterwards. Never. The only way is to use the sdcard method to recover the whole device which is very annoying (OTA all the way from February of 2019 on Android 9 to the actual Android 10 state which means step by step OTA of every monthly update).
