You could flash this recovery from existing recovery because a zip is provided. Flash it as any other zip.
I dont remember exactly which version but yes, not all allow you apps_log wiping.
However, for the new version (3.1.1) I plan to release two versions. One will allow rom updating through this apps_logs partition (not compatible with stock roms), the other wont allow custom rom upgrades but will be compatible with stock roms.

I didnot release it because encryption get broken. Seems to be a bug on twrp side.

I am figuring out how to install recovery. Thanks. Also I think TWRP is updated to 3.1.1.0 is this any chance for using on z3. BTW i am carbon rom now.

I have no device anymore for now.
The 3.1.1 had encryption broken, that why it is not published yet. Am working with the twrp team to find the problem.

i use D6603 but locked bootloader, i rooted with giefroot and have TWRP v2.8.7.0, so i put that zip to sd card and flash it but it not work, not upgrade to v3.1.0 bro. Why ? plz help me

Who can use it

it is only for z3 and unlocked bootloaders. It should work with

- phone where the sony TA update patch is applied​

or

- all AOSP based rom which support FOTAKernel recoveries extraction (extract_elf_ramdisk), ask your rom maintainer.​

Since 2017-03-16 release this recovery use apps_logs partition as a workaround for N based roms, this will break stock roms!​

This recovery is for unlocked bootloaders.
You need to find a recovery compatible with your stock rom (mostly they are provided with the rom).

I have formatted the external sd card completely as internal memory on nougat (CarbonRom) and migrated all data. TWRP always stucks, when I access folder /external_sd or select memory location external sd, which only can be left by pressing buttons [power] and [volume up]. Otherwise only a folder TWRP from internal memory is visible/accessible to TWRP now.

Do you know, how to access the internal memory in this situation or where to post this behaviour as basis for a change request to TWRP (a: shall not stuck, b: make internal memory visible), I guess: it is a common problem?

Adopted storage use encryption. This is kind of not working right now, still need to fix this.

There is also a problem into twrp which prevent decryption working.

You should use an older version (afaict last working one was 3.0.2). On this version HW encrypt & adopted should works.

So i used to have twrp installed on my D6603 and i always had this 6.0.1 MM roms based on stock, but then i installed this AIM ROM based on 7.1.2 and since that i dont have my recovery anymore, ir a try to access the normal way the led is already purple and the moment i hit the vol down button ir turns Yellow ir green and it reboots at the Sony logo again, this phone was a gift and it was already rooted si i dont know what to do, would this work for me?

Try up. Also if bootloader is upgraded, unplug the usb, shutdown the device, then vol down + power.

Hey guys, is there anyone having trouble with twrp 3.1x because of the md5? It seems that i cant upgrade my TWRP to 3.1x because of the md5.

Please tell me how to fix it.
