Does one of the logs report the backup/restore error?

I'm afraid not, because the device was frozen, adb worked, but I did not know the right commands to pull the logs with adb on the first attempt. :cyclops:

Yep, that's a little confusing.

I downloaded the file three times, the md5 always matches but I'm always getting the error message "zip verification failed" .
Any suggestions?

I want to install Carbon rom and I flashed twrp 3.1.0 by twrp 3.0.2 but nothing change (still show version 3.0.2). my z3 unlocked bootloader. who can help me ? please.

Zip file is a "shortcut" to fastboot flash recovery. Should work from any recovery. (with disabled signature check)

Your are not booting it 'the new way'. You can:
Power down the device without usb, power+vol- if you have an upgraded bootloader.
Use volume rocker at light bringup (vol- & vol+ are bringing different recoveries!)
If still don"t work ask your rom maintainer how the FOTAKernel partition is booted and highlight me.

Yes should be good
I start again to tag twrp versions too.
Am currently fully reworking twrp trees (as side project of omnirom) for easiest official releases.
Also each version I tried earlier had (minors) bugs and it is still hard to catch both leo/z3/z3dual codenames, thats why there is not so much releases.
