I've bricked my M110S (korean galaxy s). I've modifed param.lfs that contains dl_logo.jpg, i renamed its so a can't get download mode at all.
Tried 301k homemade jig not working. I assuming dl mode wont initializing because its didn't found dl_logo.jpg (yellow triangle that I've renamed)
Is it possible to flashing without dl mode???
or I must jtag my sgs using riff box to rebuild my bootloader/download mode?

Yes, either that or JTAG with Riffbox, but that takes serious soldering skills.
Watch this video. Its no need soldering...

My i9000 is dead due to water damage. Will the JTAG let me recover, or at least image the internal memory where my photos were stored?

Which chip is this?

Cheers

Hi-Jacked By RIFFbox?

This thread have indeed been an adventure and amusing reading, especially in the light of the extremely wide experience displayed by the posters. From the noob's who wanna solder SMT components with a filed down $10, 24W Radio-Shack iron, to the anonymous JTAG file donors! :D

However, it is really disappointing that after the RIFFbox connected developers got what they needed (to make money) they stopped sharing information and keep telling people they NEED a RIFFbox. This is just NOT true and the question is, if what they are clandestinely doing, by trying to promote their commercial devices here on XDA, are really pushing the limits of the XDA forum rules...

There are hundreds of options for alternative JTAG'ing, that range in price from several 1000's of dollars down to 20-30 dollars!

In the lower range you will often find devices supported by the DIY and open source community. Where all information is free and openly available. Some of these are:

They are all compatible with the open source JTAG softwares:

However, the challenge (as the RB-dev's was already well aware of) is to find/hack the correct configuration files to use with the phone(s). Somehow, someone eventually shared this info, but not quite with the rest of us...

So essentially we are back to square one; how to find a cheap DIY JTAG debricking solution that anybody can use?

And again, surely not for the last time:

DO NOT SOLDER DIRECTLY ON YOUR PHONE PCB!

(unless you have your own SMT laboratory.)

Please also consider our UNBREAKABLE MOD.

It does require on resistor to be removed from the phone, but it has the advantage that the software used to do the recovery is open source.

Hi,
I have a hard bricked device.. so I'm searching for a solution, too.

Can the Unbreakable Mod be done for a Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001)? And does anybody successfully fixed his devices without Riff Box / Easy JTAG / ORT-JTAG using a Bus Blaster or Bus Pirate?

If yes.. where can I find how-to's and what should I prefer if doin it via JTAG (Bus Pirate or Bus Blaster)?

I ve unbricked my hardbricked Sgs. It didnt response, the screen was just black. I couldnt enter recovery or download mode. It was dead for 5 months. I unbricked it without using any tools. Just a usb cabel and some will is needed. I unbricked my sgs with Unbrickable mod. I didnt really enter the download mode, I mean the screen was just white without any textes on it. But the screen was on. After that I flashed with heimdall and it was running Android.

You can try to perform unbrickable mod. But it wouldnt work. It works on 3 devices, I cant remember which one

Can you please describe how you did that (I think ..maybe you mean making a USB JIG out of the usb cable?)
USB JIG probably wont be a solution for my device, because I corrupted the bootloader due entering wrong command in adb shell (echo boot | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=0)

Help me please

I am so frustrated I have a samsung mega 6.3 that I had rooted but my boyfriend did something with it and bricked it I guess, it loads to the white samsung logo when I turn it on then it goes to a lit up black screen and thats where it stays. When I do the 3 button combo it goes into recovery boot but the recovery folder under that menu is empty. I did the factory reset and it said it completed but boots to the black screen still. When I try the 3 button combo with the volume down to put it in download mode it just flashes a warning screen so fast I cant read what the warning says but it doesnt go into download mode, so I bought a jig and it turns the phone on but its not the same screen as in the video I watched on how to use the jig that just says its in download mode instead it says "downloading do not turn off target!!" with the android guy at the top left corner it says "Factory mode in red then it says product name: SGH-M819N, currernt binary: samsung official, system status: custom, CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30 in white then bootloader ap SWREV: 3, write protection: enable in grey not sure if the coloring of the words mean anything just trying to give all info. I connect it to odin and it adds the device but I dont believe I have the correct file to load to it in odin and when I connect it to kies it just says connecting for a long time then says there was no response from the device. I tried to fix it by putting the files on my sd card but once again dont think I have the correct file to recovery it from. Not sure if I am even doing things right can someone give me some advice on fixing my phone or if you can send a link for the correct files I need for odin, the sd card way, or how to get the phone to respond to kies I will do any of the ways. please desperately need my phone to work
