It doesn't work, the bootubuntu script doesn't work. The mount commands won't work, even after doing su.

I already asked the question and never got an answer. Which terminal app are you using? I think the terminal emulator apps I've been trying might not have enough privileges.

This sounds awesome! I have a few errands to run, but when I get back later on I'm going to install this. I'm a big linux fan and have been running different distros for years. (started on Red Hat, then Gentoo [which is the best IMO], and now Xubuntu)

One suggestion that I have is doing this with Xubuntu instead of Ubuntu. GNOME is a memory intensive hog. Xubuntu comes with XFCE as default and is much faster and uses less memory. Of course, you can use the package manager to install XFCE (and uninstall GNOME) so this could be accomplished by any user...but it would probably run alot faster and efficiently on a phone with XFCE.

When I give this a shot, I'll be trying to install the XFCE window manager as well.

Thanks for the great tutorial!

Why crack wep? I've been in many situations where someone has forgotten their password for instance. It's also a blunt way to demonstrate to someone how weak their security is. Point being there are legitimate reasons.

That being said, I was under the impression that the wireless chip could at least be put into promiscuous mode. Yes, maybe not inject packets, but it's something.

Some info for all. This seems to only work with Cyanogen Roms also people with Mac need to install the trial of winzip. I did get this working while using wifi at home but doesn't seem to work outside of wifi area.

Right on, either should work anyhow. Not to be an ass or anything, but is it possible that you could upload this compressed file in anything other than .zipx? .tar .bz2 .zip .rar or anything else would be fine...a lot of people who aren't running a variation of windows (including myself) are having issues decompressing this format.

It seems the 7-zip utilities are working on a solution for the problem, although when I extracted it, I got plenty of errors. I'm going to load up the files tomorrow and try it anyhow. The only other workaround seems to be installing wine (or using a windows distro) in order to extract it.

A simple solution would be compressing in .rar format. Although .tar.bz2 offers extremely high compression...(a.k.a. might take a bit to compress/extract but you'd save time uploading files)

If it's not possible, I understand. I've been following your other thread for a bit and might just give it a shot. (It sounds like fun and I'm very well versed in linux methods) Did you use the same method to create the image that you did in this thread?

Thanks!
