A stable OS means nothing without a stable kernel.

And yeah, why just wait around when you can give it a try yourself? Nobody was born a developer, but you can sure become one if you put your mind to it (and give up on all the excuses as to why not).
for sure the first step is the stable kernel but we have a great team for that, we just need to be patient

i would love to do it by myself, but work and little kids ( GTA5 ... :silly:) don't let much time for anything else ...

Like I said, you need to give up on all these excuses.
Krystian, the main kernel dev, has kids and work as well.
It's just a matter of how bad you want something. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Ravilov do you think it is even possible?
What's your opinion as long term developer?

i would love to use ubuntu os on my atrix but its not possible. our karnel is old and new carnel just sucks battery and has lotsa bugs and we will have even more bugs with ubuntu os. if you want to use dock you can just use nottachtrix rom. dual core 1ghz is very slow tho. no desktop os can get fast with it. but you can do basic social media stuff

No idea, I haven't looked into it.
A dial core RISC chip running a 1ghz is not slow by any means especially with a separate GPU. You should see what can be accomplished with a 68000 processor running at 14mhz from 1988. Coding isn't what it used to be!!!!! Portable code has never improved anything in the efficiency stakes. Look at the specs of the first phone used to get Ubuntu as a proof of concept I think you'll be shocked

I thought the phone that they used for the proof of concept WAS the Atrix 4G!
My point exactly. But when you give ppl an answer without them having to do a bit of leg work it never helps them retain or realize the significance of the info. While were on point I've run Ubuntu on on systems that only did a few MIPS. I'm not sure ppl realize just how much processing power they have in these devices.
